I don't really think about abortions.
I think the person who has it should have the choice legally. I mean whats the good in having a kid that noone wants/loves or can support.

I'll spare my thoughts, but some of these threads need to stop turning into attention getting threads. Keep it on the topic of abortion...the title of the thread.

I hate abortion. IMO, it should be illegal. A long time ago I stated how making abortion illegal would work by Congress using such reinforcement as block grants, etc.

So because YOU hate abortion, no one should be able to choose to have one. With that kind of thinking, you could be president!

i finally see something that me and you completely disagree on then websex. abortion should be left completely to choice. alright some people may not agree on that, but for those that do, they should have the ability to go through with their choice, without relying on backalley shenanigans

I believe the right to choose completely. I believe in inalienable rights. Most people choose to live rather than to not live at all. A woman to choose whether there is life or not is wrong, IMO. And don't give me any shit about not knowing anything about it, because my sister had an abortion and a close friend had an abortion. I don't hate them because they did it, but I think it was wrong.

Most of the people I know are pro-choice. My mother almost did have an abortion. She was 18, and worried about caring for me. I am glad to be alive, but I still support the pro-choice. You should be able to choose whether or not you are a parent. Its better then in the past when young girls were so frightened about having children they'd go to an unclean facility and risk killing both themselves and the baby.
And what about the "special" cases? Like conception as a result of Rape or Incest. You think most rape victims will truley make a good parent for that child? A few may be able to look beyond the hurtful conception, but I doubt the majority would.
********************** I want everyone to be able to make their own choices, this is America after all. But having made my point- I would not have an abortion personally. I want children eventually and if one pops out earlier than I want- I'll still love the child and deal with the financial issues. If I had had one in High School- I probably would have given it up for adoption.
My choice for myself is Pro-Life; but I have no right to force my choice on others.
Hence the ultimate standing of Pro-Choice.

babies conceived due to "special" cases is an extremely low percentage. Incest should be illegal unless some kind of permanent birth control is in effect. (ie, vasectomy or tubes tied). The reason? Incest is a way of endangering life. As for rape cases, even if a guy raped my mom and I was conceived, I'd still want to have a chance to live.
As for people who aren't ready to be parents, there are a hell of a lot of people who want kids and can't have any.
why pro-life? because the majority of women who get abortions get one because they're not ready to raise a child. Adoption! And another messed up thing with abortion being legal is that it's solely up to the woman whether or not the baby lives.
Don't have sex until you're ready to be a parent. If you're ready, then you have no reason to take away life.

Unfortunatly this is not a perfect world, and kids will have sex. It should be a womans choice- free choice.

lol. It's funny you said it's not a perfect world, because I was going to put that in my post. Society needs to be taught better about sex. Besides, with new technology, I think soon getting pregnant won't be much of an issue. But first people must utilize the technology that is available.
A lot has changed from the time that women would go to unclean facilities and get an abortion done. At that time, they didn't have the newer uses of contraception either. It takes responsiblity to use what's available, and personally I think if you're not responsible to do that then you're not responsible enough to have sex.
Why must it be the woman's choice? Why can't a man choose whether his baby lives or dies? Do you think the baby would choose to live or die?
The sad thing about my posts is most likely I won't change anyone's view on whether to be pro-choice or pro-life. So, I'm just going to try to stop here and now.

Of course, because the only reason for a woman to have sex in our modern, civilized culture is for procreation.

Masturbation.
In other words, close your legs to the men that won't be around if you get pregnant. It's ok to have sex with the men you think you would like to be the father of your child. Doesn't necessarily mean you'll get pregnant.

That would be wasting sperm, and those sperm could be used to fertilize an egg. By masturbating you are not even giving life a chance.

OMG, do you actually believe I only have sex to procreate?? I don't think so. Women can be as sexually active as men; the smart ones of both sexes do use protection. But it is still the WOMANS right to abortion if she so choses. It ain't your body.
I'm getting ticked by some people ignorance- I'm gonna go cool down.

Now that's just being silly. You have to think, even if a woman conceives, millions of sperm are "wasted". Conception means there is life coming to be. To be. etre. is.

SO in conclusion-
Men can't masturbate b/c that would be destroying potential life- but they can screw any women who will let them. However Gay men are out of luck b/c gay sex would be wasting sperm.
Women can masturbate but not have sex unless its to procreate.
Oh and blowjobs are out of the question of course.

Do you think you should have sex with a man who cares about you? Or one that just wants pussy? Lot's of girls have sex with men who just wants pussy, and then they come to me about how "oh, he didn't care about me. He just got what he wanted and left. I shouldn't have had sex with him so early."
In other words, whoring around is irresponsible for both men and women. A good reason why I hate cherry chasers.

well, the soulmate or good partner thing is an excellent way to prevent abortion, but I know that's most definitely not the case most of the time.
People can have sex for whatever reason they want, but should a person have sex whenever they want. Even when their not willing to use protection, or birth control, or any contraceptives. I have yet to hear about a girl getting pregnant when she was on birth control and her man was using a condom, why can't people having sex just utilize what they have?
Bottom line is sex should be reserved for those who are responsible.
I have to admit I was using the 'only have sex with such and such' method of argument because it would be a way to eliminate abortion.

The comment has been made that a foetus is its mother's body. I'd just like to point out that biologically, it is not. It has different chromosomes. It may even be a different sex.

Thats true, but the fetus is still in a womans body- not a mans. Therefore it should be our choice- if you want a baby work it out with a surrogate mother. Else find a way to carry it yourself

The key to avoiding that is prevention. Use a condom, use birth control, use the day after pill. If you do that, then it is extremely likely you don't have to worry about getting pregnant.
If I'm a sperm and I Dodge the condom Get through the spermicide Bypass the effects of birth control Am able to swim through tougher mucous : The day after pill Can find the egg and fertilize it
All those obstacles should be at least awarded with a chance to live, right?
