I recently woke up with a lump just below my waistline under the belly button. It was red around the area and was uncomfortable to touch. I thought that It was a bug bite or something. It has recently gone down in size but is still there. It does not hurt to touch anymore but scares me because it hasn't gone away. Anyone know what this could be?

How big was the lump? If it was smallish one possibility is a sebaceous cyst.

like ineligible said, that is a possibilty. We need a little more info to go off of though. And dont be scared by the word cyst, because it doesnt always mean a problem. too were you wearing a belt too tight maybe? too tight of a wasteline? ingrown hair maybe?

yea it is pretty small, the size of a dime maybe even a little smaller then that. i don't usually wear belts but now that i think of it I did wear one the night before I woke up with it.

maybe u wore it too tight, and never forget about ingrown hairs. The infections underneath the skin can inflate it. if its bothersome go have it checked out by a dermatologist.
