I know this is kind of gross, but how do you prevent skid marks? Please don't say "wipe your ass" or "bathe".
Sure, sometimes its because I'm lazy about hygiene (hey I'm a straight guy) but there are times when I wipe until I'm raw and bleeding and still end up getting skid marks. This happens especially if I'm really active and/or sweating alot.
I get them pretty often and it can get embarassing, especially if my mom or girlfriend sees them. (yes both have seen them-thank God they were both very understanding and didn't make too much fun of me.)

You ought to have someone inspect your ass after you wipe, because it sounds like you're missing something. Are you serious about bleeding? That's not good. Next time try wetting the T.P. with water, maybe with a touch of soap. Or jump in the shower after your next crap and see what happens.
The only other possibility is that you're getting leakage, but that would be odd unless you have diarrhea.

Have your mom buy some wipes. They make small flushable ones. (I wouldn't really flush unless your on city septic) but they will clean ya up great!
I had a hemeroid from pregnancy, and talk about a hard bum to wipe! The wet naps saved my ass!

I use TP then take a shower after a bowel movement. I think it's a lot more sanitary than only TP.

In some countries washing with water instead of wiping with toilet paper is the norm. In Thailand for example toilets usually have a little hand-held shower thingie next to them.

one of my friends said he used to get skid marks alot too and his parents would actually ground him for it for not practicing good hygiene. That would absolutely suck!
The thing that helped him is to wipe as well as possible right after crapping, and then coming back and wiping again an hour or two later. He says this really helps. Plus he said, now, if he does get skid marks, he just throws his underwear away so his mom doesn't see them.

I don't know if you have any "wipes" handy, but have you tried the idea of dampening the T.P. (with a little bit of soap)?

You can't take a shower, but you can grab a wad of TP and dampen it under the faucet before going into a stall.
In some parts of Europe, at least in homes, toilets are in their own little room, with no sink, which makes it more difficult to do.

Obviously not practical if not at home. I've pooped in the morning, before showering, which is nice, but too much trouble unless you were headed into the shower anyway.
If your body always works on a wake=up-then-poop schedule, life is good.

I do the shower/rinse off thing after my BM's. I have a removable shower head and I just rinse off that area back there. It only takes about 2 minutes from turning on the water to turning it off. It's quite practical for me. I also make it a point to not go in public, so I don't have to worry about not having a shower there.
OP: Moist wipes are what I've used for years and they're the only thing that I've found to work. I use TP until I see nothing left on it, then I start using the wipes and I find that I'm really not finished wiping. Then I go ahead and finish. As for not having wipes in public, just stick some in a Ziploc bag and carry it around in your pocket. Problem solved.

Maybe people should start teaching boys how to wipe properly. It seems that girls never have this problem. My own sister hasn't taught my nephew how to wipe properly. It seems that we tend to ignore boys when it comes proper grooming and hygiene.

Good suggestions. I am in my early 20s and I still get skid marks from time to time. It's no big deal unless you get them more than just every once in a blue moon.
