Has anybody out there used one of those new-fangled "male fertility kits". They saw you pretty much just pour some ejaculate into the device (which acts like a cervix) and if a certain number of sperm make it to the other side, the indicator will turn a different colour (and indicate you have x--xx million healthy sperm)

They seem like a neat little curiosity.

They could be very useful for some worried guys, some of whom don't like the idea of masturbating at the doctor's.

So long as guys who get an "infertile" reading don't rely on it.

I'm glad this thread was started because a thought just hit me yesterday. I was watching Friends, where two of the characters went to get a fertility test, and the male had to do it in the doctor's office. That's when it =hit me - what if a couple wanted to get a fertility test but the male's religion went against masturbation?

The doctor would give you a non-spermicidal condom to use during sexual intercourse.

Any idea how quickly you'd have to get that condom full of semen back for testing?

From what I read you can put the sample (in the supplied jar) in the fridge and deliver it within 24 hours to the lab

However, if you were Catholic a condom wouldn't be acceptable either.

I have heard of using a condom with a pinhole to obviate that objection. But I've also read that semen samples collected with condoms aren't good for fertility studies because long contact with the latex affects the sperm.

Perhaps using an electrical stimulation device might be acceptable to religious objectors?
