Is there any correlation between how healthy you eat and the amount of times you defecate (and the size?) daily? I know waste is waste, so will eating healthier food result in the reduction in amount?

It's not true, though. All your food goes through the intestines at the same rate.

dabomb, some foods are 'low-residue', which means that very little is left after the have been through the digestive tract. That can be helpful for soldiers out in the field under fire where defaecation may be dangerous, but it's not generally very healthy if all your food is like that, and it tends to produce hard stools. On the other hand foods with a lot of fibre produce a lot of stool. So eating high-fibre foods like fruit and vegetables is good for you, but produces more, not less, faeces.
