Ok. I realize that this probably isn't the best place for this, but it's been bugging the hell out of me.
Ok, just about everyone knows that the XBox 360 and PS3 consoles can view the internet. Both have hard drives, and both can download games and add-ons and whatnot. On the XBox 360, you can purchace bundles of new songs for Guitar Hero II. (Like songs from GH1 and songs from My Chemical Romance and Ozzy.)
Since the PS3 can access the internet the same way the XBox 360 does, can it download these add-ons as well? I'm trying to deside between buying an Xbox or PS3, and the guitar hero things are a BIG deal to me. If I were to find out you can buy songs on the PS3 like on the Xbox 360, I'd be tottaly SOLD!
Seriously, before I lose my mind, SOMEONE find out and let me know!! You could as well tell me which system you prefer. But please, unless you've played both, shut up.  Thanks!

Yes, but at the moment there are no songs available. But when they are released, check out the online menu on the browser. So, feel free to spend an arm and a leg for that damn thing.

I prefer Xbox360 for online, also i do not own any games for my Ps3 atm. I feel the 360 i a better buy right now, but 08 has a good lineup for ps3.

I would save the money, buy a REAL electric guitar and practice amp, and maybe kids in the future will be playing YOUR songs with you signature guitar on "Guitar Hero."
I prefer XBox.

Im with you on this. at 500 bucks to get the bastards and get the games and the guitar shti that is all moeny that could of been spent on a real guitar, a decent guitar and even a decent amp can be had at that price.
besides I have always felt tha video games were a fucking waste of time and money. even as a kid I didnt play them, of course my video games were fucking atari and pong, maybe thats what turned me off at so young a age, by the time nintendo came out I was already past giving a fuck and found other shit to do with my time and energy. cross country skiing, down hill skiing, backpacking, hiking, fishing, hunting, building shit, putting together a car, GIRLS.
so many better things to do than fucking games. besides learning a guitar is pretty much 100% guranteed to get you laid, even if yuo never became a famous fuck face raking in the cash and humping 3 new groupies a night.
I know where Id rather spend my time and money between the two of those choices.

Haha! I know what you mean. I'm from the era where Radio Shack's Ping Pong was the hottest thing going. Also my older evil stepbrother had Intelivision with the disc controller. I never touched a video game again until about three years ago when I played "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" and I was like, "Damn, I need to get an Xbox so I can beat up fools and cops in this virtual city." So now I have a few games, like Fight Night I and II, SoulCaliber, and Fifa Soccer. It's a good release at the end of a long day, but I'm not a "gamer." I'd also rather be bashing my drumskins and playing guitar or bass. It's more therapeutic than working out the thumbs.

Id forgotten about intellivision!
Sometimes at home we like to get high and steal the kids old system that has since been replaced with an xbox and a ps2 and psp's and fucking god knows what else they have ended up with, but they payed for every bit of it, dad is always willing to pay them to do some shit above and beyond normal household duties.
anyways we have thier old system in our room in the bottom of the tv stand. we get high, and play mario party on the 40" flat screen, its the only game I really enjoy and then only if Im really fucked up.

I do play guitar, actually. And Bass as well. But I enjoy playing guitar hero with friends when we're not having BAND practice. Just because people enjoy a video game like GH every once in a while, doesn't mean they're not as smart/cool as actual guitar players. Hell, even Slash likes playing GH!
