well first off, Welcome to A2A, second off, it seems like you do care for your boyfriend and a piece of advice that i would give you, would be to try to listen to him, and maybe try to understand where he is coming from, and also look at WHY he is having these long drawn out conversations with you...
Also something you can try is, tell him that you have ADHD, and that its difficult for you to completely listen to these drawn out speeches that he keeps having with you...
and if anything, just make love to him, kiss him, hug him, or draw his mind away from the reason why he was going to give you the long talk... i know that if i was about to go into a long speech with my girlfriend, and she just kissed me so many times that i couldn't even formulate a sentence, I'd completely forget about the reason why we were arguing/talking...
hope this helps...

Welcome to A2A, A Little Birdie! They sound like good suggestions from Grown, though I'm not sure they would work in every situation. Sometimes when my wife goes on, stopping every sentence in the middle to explain where she was and what she was thinking at the time, and why she was there and thinking that, and detailing all the past history that led to that, I feel there's no solution at all. I just want her to get to the end of the sentence.

One suggestion try looking directly at him while he is talking. I have the same issue as you, I easily drift off thinking about others this as people get into long-winded talks. I find it helps me pay attention is I force myself to watch them, helps me focus my attention.

If I do that, I end up spacing out thinking about the spot they missed shaving, or the booger they have under thier nose, or I wonder how he got that scar, or what te fuck was he thinking earing that? If I start to focus on people, its all gone, my attention is out the fucking window. I come to wondering what we were talking about before I drifted into what if land.
