What does pneumonia feel like?
I feel like I've got a bad case of the flue but my chest hurts like a mother and I feel like I can only get about half the air I need when I take a breath.

Being short of breath is a symptom. Also, fever, coughing (which could make your chest hurt also)feeling really tired, and sometimes vomiting are all symptoms. My son just got over pneumonia this week. He had all of these symptoms.
How long have you been feeling this way?

Sense Saturday evening.
The only thing that kinda worries me is being short of breath. I feel like I need to take a big breath but can't get one.

What other symptoms do you have? Just short of breath and chest pain?

Just achy and flue like symptoms. Not really congested in the head. My joints hurt, my chest hurts, my throat isn't really sore. Headachy. Gurgling sound in my throat but down I'm chest when I lay down.
Other than that though I'm fine.

Well, if I were you, I would see a doctor. That gurgling sound is not good. That sound and the shortness of breath makes me think that your lungs are inflamed (whether it's pneumonia or a respitory infection). And a doctor would probably give you something to help your breathing.
If you don't have a fever, I think that is a good sign you don't have some type of infection going on. But something in the back of my head tells me fever with pneumonia is more common in children than adults.
But, that is just 'over the internet mom advice' for you.

Believe me I would but I drove my wife down here with me today. She has a class that isn't over till 4 o'clock, otherwise I would be gone.
I've been told, on more than one occasion, my work ethic is lacking.

All of this has been today. I didn't feel all that bad when I got up but I think I'm headed down hill.
I got some mucus relief pills and I can breath better now but I'm ready to get the fuck out of here.

Ive had it before.
Its really no fun.
you feel really weak, and breathing is a huge problem.
I could barely stand up, or move my arms, I had to be lying down, because if I did stand for a long time, I`d almost pass out.
but if you`re really concerned about it, go get it checked out.
The longer you wait, the worse it will get.
