This has been going on for about half a year now I suppose, possibly more. It seems that whenever I do ANY physical activity, or get nervous, or hot in any way what so ever I start to get itchy all over my body. (Usually my back, and head though.) It's like pins prickling in my skin all over me, it's making it practically impossible to work out, because whenever I get slightly hot or sweaty I start to get itchy all over. As far as I can tell I don't have any raised lumps, red spots, any rashes or anything, I just get REALLY REALLY ITCHY.
I suppose sometime I will go to a doctor, if it doesn't stop. I'm just curious if anyone on here might know what it is, it's very very annoying, andneed to know if it's anything serious at all. :x
Also, if I put this in the wrong place, I'm sorry.

I think you have what's called prickly heat, but I'm not sure there is anything you can do besides get into a cool place, take a cold shower, or maybe use calamine lotion.

I agree with albeitmyself, it sounds like prickly heat. That happens when sweat pores get blocked, so when you sweat it builds up pressure in the pores.

Wow, I thought I was alone there. It's so bloody annoying. I thought is was just bad luck for me, so never considered asking my doctor.

I suppose it could be prickly heat, but like I said, I don't see ANY red bumps or anything like that. It isn't limited to just my back or head either. I can get it on the underside of my foot, my lgs, arms, everywhere. It also happens whenever I even get slightly hot. (Actually, I don't think a hot shower has ever done anything to me.) If I get nervous, or work out (even for no more then 15 seconds) I'll start to break out in itchyness. Would it take longer for me to sweat and for it to get backed up? Or is this still possibly prickly heat?

I am EXACTLY the same way. Right now, it's winter, and sometimes I dress a bit over whats needed, and sweat all the way to school, and I get so incredibly itchy.

When I get embarrassed (or start blushing because there's a cute boy talking to me or around me or looking at me), I get the same thing! I'm under the impression it's caused by clogged pores, and since your body is trying to let off some of the heat, it can't because of the oil already there. It might not be visible, but it's still present. It's usually on my back, instead of my arms or legs or hands.
I'd suggest talking to your dermatologist and maybe getting a foliculitis (sp?) prescription to clear up the clogged pores ... and then just make sure you scrub away old skin and oil when you shower ...
Trust me, I know how it feels- I played basketball for 4 years, and honestly ... I was embarrassed of myself at least 95% of the time. Man ... I really sucked!!! =P
Good luck!!! Kat
