Over summer, I'm hoping to grow my hair out, as the standards for a disciplined and clean cut hair style will no longer be a requirement until September. I'm also hoping to achieve results to my former length, which was shoulderlength, however, that took me awhile. What types of foods/minerals/vitamins should I be partaking in to speed hair growth? Thanks.

I don't think anything makes much difference.

My masseuse and hair cutting guy told me hair generally grows about an inch or an inch and half a month on most people.

Whether thats right or not I have no idea and it's just a generality anyway it's going to vary between individuals. Mine grows a lot faster than that. Other than just taking care of your hair I doubt anything is going to make a measurable difference. I know back in the '80s my step sister used to take some kind of vitamin or something that was primarily for making nails grow but a side effect of it was that it was also supposed to make hair grow faster.

I don't remember what the crap was but it's probably no matter. I highly doubt the shit worked.

actually that does work, Iv seen it too many times, and you can buy it over the counter, it however is not intended for nail or hair growth, its pre-natal vitamins, for pregnant women. The growth is a side effect. I see em all the time in wally world when I hit the pharmacy for scripts.

So in other words, not for guys, eh? Haha... well I've heard some people talking about how certain vitamins promoted hair growth, and I guess that its not really too important anyways, 3-4.5 inches of hair sounds perfectly reasonable in my opinion! Thanks to all those who responded \:D

They are not made for guys, however to teh best of my knowledge they are jstu vitamins, They wouldnt hurt you to take them. but Id look deeper into that, there maybe something thats in them for women? no idea what or if, but maybe.
the biggest thing about your hair is taking care of it, keeping it trimmed.
IF you want long hair you have to cut it, about once a month. NOt a lot just enough to take off dead and split ends. If you dont it never gets long and it always looks like shit.
Iv had long hair since I was 2 or 3 years old. I grew up in the 70s, got past disco and kept the long hair for the rocker image in the 80s. I cut it in the 90s, I hated the way I looked and felt with short hair so its all back now, I keep it between mid back or just past shoulders depending on time of year and what i feel like dealing with.
The secret to having long hair is to take care of it. Even when I had a mohawk in the 80s it was so fucking long that if I didnt have it spiked noone knew I had it because my hair was so long it covered my head.

My hair is long and I get it cut once a year. It's full of split ends but they don't bother me and I prefer not to bother them. \:\)

My hairs long, no split ends, and makes girls jealous. of course if the wind blows towards me they dont want the hairline thats revealed that goes along with the beautiful hair.
