The title says it all. I went to the beach in May and July of last year. I wore sunscreen while I was in the sun laying out. On some parts of my body, I have a vague tan line, particularly on my ass. Is this normal? Should I be worried? Did I torch my skin or something? Has this happened to anyone before?
(Edit: I've never tanned on the beach before, so I'm kind of perplexed.)

I'm surprised, considering you used sunscreen as well as the natural melanin; but on pasty white bodies in the days when we used to tan as much as we could in summer, a tan line all year was normal.

I have a tan line all year round. It fades mostly on my shoulders but its still pretty distinct on the lower half of my body.

lol black people can get darker! lmao...
matter fact, alot of black people if not exposed to sun, or lotion is applied to all over, get really "light skinned" on there unexposed body parts...
my girlfriend who is black and japanese, her breasts are a dark caramel color, where as her skin is a chocolate color.
her booty is a slightly darker brown than her breasts, but still lighter than her the rest of her body,
her legs and stomach are also a bit light. but the rest of her body retains its correct complexation...
