hmm I wasnt sure exactly where to post this so I just took a stab... anyway

I am about to start taking Paxil for treatment of anxiety and panic attacks and I was wondering:

is it safe to consume alcohol while on this drug or other SSRIs?

Im not talking about a "night of drinking", more like a few drinks, absolute maximum 5 beers or equivilent on dispursed occasions.

by "safe" I mean will the effect of alcohol be intensified? will the effect of the SSRI be diminished over the short or long term? and anything else you might know...

thanks!

Yes, the effect of alcohol will be intensified. One drink may seem like you drank three. So be careful! I don't think it will diminish the effect of the Paxil.
