Really embarrassed about phimosis

Hey guys -
I am a 28 year old guy, and I have phimosis. I'm really, really embarrassed about it. I know I shouldn't be embarrassed, but I am. It's been really helpful reading everyone's posts on phimosis and stretching the foreskin. It's all really helpful.
Once in a while I try stretching the foreskin like some of you have recommended while I'm in the shower for a few minutes. And I actually make a little bit of progress. In fact, my problem isn't so much that the skin is really tight--some of the head gets revealed even after a couple days of light stretching.
My problem really is this: I'm afraid to stretch it enough over a few weeks to be able to retract it fully because I'm afraid of some things. What if it's really nasty when I do. What if it's still painful? (I know the head is sensitive.) What if I can't pull it back? This sounds crazy but I've actually started seeing a therapist to hopefully deal with this. But unfortunately, as nice as the guy is, I'm still too embarrassed to even tell him my real problem.
I need help! ANY ADVICE THAT ANYONE CAN OFFER ME I TRULY DO APPRECIATE. This is the only place I really thought to go to. I'd be too embarrassed to tell any friends or doctors or anyone else at this point.
Thanks for all your help in advance. I will do my best to come back to this forum often and check back in. Thanks again, guys.
Mark

Hmmm...
Well if it's nasty then you wash it. I mean how bad can it be?
It will be sensitive, but so be it.. You have to deal with it. The more you are active in retracting and washing, the more it helps to reduce sensitivity.
What if you can't? How do you know you can't? You're just going to have to get over the idea that there's nothing really to be afraid of. It's not going to fall out.
(LOL.. Actually when I was young and exploring and retracting, I had this idea that the head was going to pop out or something. I didn't know it was attached in there. I guess I thought it might pop out and I'd have to chase it while it bounced around on the floor like a rubber ball. HAHA j/k.. but you get the idea.)

I remember the first i was able to retract it, after a few weeks of SLOWly pulling it back, when it finally actually gave way and pulled back past the head, it was so quick i didnt notice until I felt a chill in the room, lol
but yeah its going to be a litte dirty, perhaps more so in your case, but just keep working at it, but just remember to do so in the shower, warm water, and take your time, this sort of thing requires patience

yeah i remember the first time i pulled my foreskin back. Funnily enough that lead to my first masturbation. Although it's not an easy process (the skin pulling).
(The lead up to me first retracting my skin i thought it was going to get stuck so when it did go over i hastily pulled it back hehe)
