Well im currently on my last pack of cigarettes, i have 6 left, and then im officially quitting until... idk till i feel like smoking again. prolly around 18 but only casually, not a pack a day like now...
ill keep you guys posted on my progress and the effects it takes on my body over the next couple weeks/months...
wish me luck :-P although i dont think i need it...

But doesn't that defeat the purpose of your "real reason" to quit in the first place? Don't get me wrong, I'm not playing soothsayer, but you'll still be hindering your long-term health.
only REAL reason i can think of to stop, is for my future wife and kids... i want my kids to bury me, just not when there 10....

what i mean by casual, is like 4-5 cigarettes MAYBE a month... but prolly less than that... casual for me is like, the rare occasions im in florida and my cuzin offers me a cigarette...
and i say that now, not knowing what the consequences of me stopping are going to be... i might end up dispising cigarettes and not even want them around me...
but juss from what im thinking... i think i might become a casual smoker, i juss wanna see how this is going to affect my health, and etc...
i will admit i dont like smoking a pack a day, at the end of the day i have a headache, im always in the bathroom (although that i wouldnt mind, seeing as how that keeps my weight steady) and my girlfriend rarely makes out with me, cause as she says "they (her lips) smell like an ashtray after im done kissin u"
im actually down to 5 now...  there slowly leaving me

today is the 4th day without a cigarette... i will admit that its hard on concentrating on stopping, and really stopping... but im trying to stay strong...
man i hate these movies that have people smoking cigarettes in them (im watching see no evil)

My wife and I smoked a whole pack when we went to the local Indian Casino last night. Damn did we have headaches from smoking that lasted well into the night. It just helped confirm that smoking sucks.

what were u smoking? and what do u normally smoke? i remember when i almost chased the devil, i had a headache for a good 12 or more hours...
typically though, if u smoke lets say ultra lights, and then u step up to some no. 27's or red's and try smoking one, 1 drag will be stronger than the whole ultra light...
newports are the same way, but thats cause there menthol

I'm about to start my third day without any tobacco (cigars).
I gave up cigarettes for 2 years, then took up cigars thinking they might be a little easier to quit ........ NOT!
Anyway, I trust you can outdo me by 10 fold, right?
How soon do you expect that I can sit smokeless in South America with my poolboy and you with your Brazilian women?
Just FYI:
I know, as most people do, that you are not supposed to inhale cigars!
But, as a cigarette smoker, I did inhale a years worth of cigars.
Recently, I experimented with a tissue to see the elements coming out of the cigar.
Unbelievable, to say the least!
A year of inhaling that shit may have been my undoing!
A cautionary tale for anyone reading this!

lol i feel u on that inhaling cigars...
what i used to do is smoke a pack of black and milds... about 1 1/2 a week...
u inhale 2-3 hits every 4-5 hours and ur good to go... u end up smoking about 1 a day...
about south america, idk when... but im still talking to the indie companies about a deal... they dont want to sign my partner, and they offered me a deal about 1 week ago but i said no cause he wasnt included... if they offer me it again tho imma say yes...
i cant go begging for it back now, cause they'll lower my pay...
i feel stupid saying no though cause of the fact that my partner is an asshole to me, and has been recently...
i just wanna do me, and say fuck whoever dislikes me, im tired of tryin to please every body...
but u better have a beer with me at least in brazil... or a margarita something...

I agree with Pink. I know alot of people here seem to think GPMY is a liar but no one can really prove it. Plus why is it so far fetched that someone has a life like his. Far crazier shit has happened in this world then the stuff that happens to him. I know it seems like he has a crazy story every week but c'mon, alot of people here give him a hard time. And how do you all know it isnt true?
Im not going to get into an argument with everyone, but GPMY is my bud so im not gonna just let everyone shit on him. Give the kid a break, i have crazy shit happen to me, past and present. It doesnt happen all the time but it happens. I could easily post 3-5 threads a week about my life but i choose not to, GPMY comes here and post cuz he needs to get it out.
I see alot of people attack him alot and i think everyone just needs to losen up a bit and try to help him. Do you really think he would come here everyday and make stories up just to get a rise out of everyone? I seriously doubt thats the case.

Why not? It's happened many times before. There are people who are pathetic enough to actually make an account (even more than one) just to post outrageous stories or even just to piss people off. This is why you need to take a grain of salt with each story here that seems a more bit out there than most. But how much, if at all, is really up to you.
With that said, I feel it's my personal right to make my own judgement when it comes to people's stories, just as much as who I like and dislike. Perhaps calling Grown a liar here and there may have been a bit far (though it's truly how I feel), but that still doesn't mean I trust or like the guy. Don't get me wrong though, he's not the only one, on and off the board.
And to add with what I said, the same goes with everyone else. I'm more than sure there's at least one person who doesn't like me here for whatever reason, and that's just fine. At least in that sense, they are honest and I appreciate honesty, whether I agree with it or not. So, anyone can tell me anything. The difference with me is, I don't take it so personally that I'd cry about it.
I think I'm fair though. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and hoped that I wouldn't come across another asinine post, but he continued to do so. I'm human, I can only give so many second chances and my patience has a limit. If I don't see change, then I'll come to the conclusion that this behavior is who the person is. Then I'll make my own choice to like the person or not.
Just because you like someone, doesn't mean I should. You like him for your own reasons and I have my own to not like a certain person. Not everyone will get along with everyone, it's a simple fact of life.

I think it's good that you are contributing more, MMAfighter90. And I agree with what you say here. It's rare that we can be quite sure if someone is telling the truth or not, and if they are telling the truth and are called a liar (which does happen quite often on boards across the Net), it must be like taking someone who is asking for help and beating them up.
Even if it happens that they are in fact lying, telling them so when it is not obvious creates disputes and fights and makes it look as the boards are uncaring and not a good place to post anything personal on.
It is surely far better to give people the benefit of the doubt. Some stories here that initially seemed far-fetched have turned out to be true. And if someone is lying but you treat them seriously and respectfully, you haven't lost much.
I would also add that I don't believe complexity, especially a mixture of conflicting moods and emotions, indicates lack of reality. It is fictional characters who are most consistent.

This isn't directed at GPMY, but to the topic of truth.
In order for people to get help, truth is of paramount importance.
You just can't help anybody who lies or changes the story.
I've never been a proponent of "Never Let the Truth Stand in the Way of a Good Story".
The truth is so easy to remember and doesn't change from day to day.
Lies usually aren't remembered very well and the story can change daily.
