So me and this girl are really close, and we flirt a lot and we send each other all these funny sexual little messages. When we are in public, we hug and stuff. On Myspace, we are put as "engaged" kinda as a joke, but I don't know if we are "going out". We have gone to lunch before. Basically today a bunch of obnoxious people came up to us and were like "are you guys dating?" and her response was "no, we are engaged" and stuff like as a joke to try to get them to go away I guess.
Basically I don't understand it, cause I'm not sure if we are "going out" or not! It is never really brought up in public.

sorry, bud, but you're not going out. Unless she kissed you or affirmed with you in some way that she was your girl and you are her man you guys are just really good friends. I do that kind of stuff with my guy friends all the time. One of them I'm "engaged" to the other I have 3 kids with lol. We always joke around like that. Seems to me like you like her.. alot. Does she feel the same way?

But the thing is that she has never kissed a guy before, and I am absurdly shy, and if I tried to make a move, and she like didn't want it, it would make us really awkward, and I don't want that. (oh yeah, I forgot to mention that she is a senior and I'm a sophmore :\ )
