I know I'm new to the boards, and this might seem like a wierd question. I'm gay, and every time my boyfriend penetrates me, I lose my erection. Does anyone know why?

Is this the first BF you've been this intimate with? Perhaps it's not a "pain" issues but more of an "uncomfortable" issue simply because it's something new?
Being a gay male myself I remember the first few time I bottom, it wasn't painful but it was a very weird sensation, something I wasn't used to feeling.

I'm 19 now, and I don't get as many spontaneous erections as I used to, and so also I find them more difficult to maintain... but I figured that it was because I'm on the upper end of the developing stage, that it was natural. I have no trouble with keeping them when I'm having sex or using my hands. I only seem to lose them when I'm being penetrated.

Is sex a new thing for you? Nerves can really effect erections quite a bit.
Can you self stimulate yourself when bottoming?

yes, he is my first intimate bf, but we've been together 2 years now, so I feel quite confident around him. I have a toy which, it's the same with that. I can't really keep an erection.

Have you noticed in gay porn, most often, the bottom does not have an erection?
Much of it depends on what you are focusing on.

In your situation, paulpierce, it seems to be a physiological issue that needs professional tests and instrumentation - there's not a lot this site can do; whereas for the original poster, being a smaller and less serious problem, there may be more advice posters are able to give. The amount of help someone gets doesn't depend on the seriousness of the problem, but on what suggestions people have.

Something I forgot to ask: Do you actually enjoy anal sex?
Maybe if you don't, if you only go through it to please, if your concentration is on other things, all this may be the reason.
But, having an erection during penetration isn't important anyway.
You only need an erection in order for you to get off.
(But, like I mentioned about gay porn actors, whether they enjoy it or not, I noticed that most bottoms do not maintain an erection. Some do, however.)

I'll try relaxing a bit more. and in response to your question about noticing it in porn... I can't say that I've watched that much...
