Somebody has probly asked before but i couldnt find anything. But is it pretty safe to have sex during your period. Im not really worryed about getting pregnant or a STD, but can it do other damage?

I dont think it can do any real damage. Ive fingered my girlfriend on her period, but it was like the last day so it was very very light, not much to really clean up afterwards, and nothing happened to her, i cant imagine sex being much different?

No, it won't do any other damage. If she uses tampons and takes it out just before there may be a lack of lubrication - that's the only thing I can think of.

the only difference is their will be blood.. on his dick area and your area.. depends on how messy you get..... it grosses my boyfriend out bc the thought of blood on him that isnt his and that is also coming out of my vagina makes him sick.. hah it just depends onthe person i guess

I wouldnt do it bed during but it was ok in the shower. I definitly wont be trying it alot but sometimes i guess it would be ok

From a guy point of view.
Most guys think this is sick... not sure why. I like having sex with a girl on her period. It's just feels tighter and more wet than usally.

Umm, I'd have to disagree. No guy I've ever been with has not wanted to have sex on my period. I think it's pretty rare for guys over the age of 20 to be scared of period blood.

Although I only mentioned my own experience, I have spoken with many other women and men about the subject and rarely encounter a negative attitude. And yes, this is ALL anecdotal - and I did say "I think" which means that I acknowledge this is my opinion. I don't understand why you're jumping on me. I never said that no guy over the age of 20 didn't like period sex. I never said your opinion didn't count.
And I resent the snide implication that I must have been with a lot of guys.
My whole post was to make the generalization I did so that readers wouldn't get the impression that nobody liked period sex.

Haha, yeah. Well, the human sex drive is a powerful thing. When we are horny, no obstacle is too great to overcome (except not being able to get a condom) :-(.

oh god. been there done that about the condom thing. it suckkkkkks. a few years ago i wouldnt have thought much of it, but too many close calls for my liking. so we always stock up on them now lol

Well, my boyfriend and I have been together for a year and we've never done it without a condom, but we both have been tested and are clean so I think it's just mostly my boyfriend's fear of pregnancy (although I am on birth control too) that's keeping us back..
Oh, and we always have a condom at home - but when we're *out* it can be a problem :-P - he tries to keep one in his pocket usually.

It's the opposite in my relationship. My guy wouldn't mind having sex on my period and he's told me that. But the reason we don't because I do mind. What can I say, I'm horribly lazy. The idea of cleaning the sheets or towels for bloody sex doesn't seem too fun to me. And boy, do I hate that smell.

haha, well, I can't argue with that. Usually the way my boyfriend and I do it, the only blood is on our bits, and I've only had to scrub the towel a couple times. That being said, we usually don't have sex on the heaviest flow day.

Just the opposite. I DON'T think you've been with alot of guys, hence I thought it was rather presumtuous of you to say that you thought it was "rare" any guy over 20 didn't mind it.
I think many guys just deal with it. I'll bet many prefer the girl to NOT be on her period, but just take what they can get and deal with it.
There will always be a broad spectrum of preferences.. Some will be absolutly disgusted with it and then you'll probably have some freaks out there who think they're the reincarnation of Dracula and it's feast time.

Well I think it's rather arrogant of you to tell me what to think...as I said, when I preface a sentence with "I think..." it's an opinion piece, and you can take it or leave it.
It's not that I think all but a few guys LOVE period sex, but rather that they're not AFRAID of it. I really don't think this is a difficult premise to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. Although, there being a geographic distance between us, I doubt if you'd take any survey of mine for truth.

I'm on Virtual_Star's side.
My boyfriend wouldn't mind doing it when I'm "on" but I sure do.
I have tried to explain why, mostly becuase I think he'd sectretly think it was discusting and I'd rather sex not be assosiated with ickyness....which is silly cuz he says he wouldn't mind....
Anyway, to answer the original post, you're not going to do any damage except for extra laundry and I have hurd that some women are more sensitive during this time so enjoy sex more. Also, as sick as it sounds, blood=lube.

Maybe I'm not quite as open minded with this area of sex, but just. No thanks. lol. I'll go for blind folds, and biting, and handcuffs, and food, and role play and leather, etc etc, but ugh. Period sex? that doesn't sound appetizing to me at all. I think she'll have to wait. Sorry.
