okay so dont anyone get mad at me. but okay so early this year i dated this girl for a month(my longest) (i'm also almost 18 and a senior in high school shes a junior). Then me and her became friends and have been like best of friends for past 8 months. when we broke up she said she wanted to become best friends first. but now that we're good friends. she doesn't want to "risk that friendship" by moving to the next level. I'm not a bad looking guy and have tried 5 diff girls since me and her broke up but no one just seems to compare. Then lately i found this new girl. She seems perfect in just about everyway i look at her. Whenever i think about her i can't find a flaw at all. All my friends even say this girl is 10x better then my first X girlfriend from the beginning of the year.

Now i had reassessed my situation and realized i have a problem showing this new perfect girl any sort of love or affection because it just feels different and isn't something that im compelled to want to do. but my X from the beginning of the year i have no problem showing love and affection but she doesn't want to go past being friends and i don't get it. So i'm trying to move on to this other girl but i feel like i dont want to do anything and just wnat to think about my X. i have never had trouble getting girls that i wanted, but it seems i am just really attached to the girls that i can't seem to get but eventually get. Only problem this time is i can't get this one again and am not sure how to handle it.

I don't want to let this perfect girl slip away by still thinkin bout my X, but i don't know how to get that feeling i have for my X and transfer it to this new girl who is supposeldy so perfect.

also i do know im only 18 and i shouldn't be lookin for love, but its not that i am, im just lookin for what feels right. and unfortunately its myX. anyone have any suggestion on either. what to say to X maybe to get her to come back or. how to forget about her. or really how to get the affection for the new perfect girl. well ok thanks sorry long

i'm not sure. ive never felt inadequent for a girl. just was unsure why i would feel so different toward a girl who could be a great girl. isn't that waht im supposed to want?

Indeed, but when it comes to the crunch, guys often feel a very good-looking girlfriend is beyond their league. Top models often find it difficult to get a boyfriend for that reason.

well i like being with this new girl, its just say. if i was cuddling with her. i would get bored and wnat to do something. when if i was my X i could cuddle for like ever. (just 1 example) is there any knowledge on guys who just want what they can't have? if so, how do i get past that?

sounds like things with the X wont ever happen.

Here is a perfect chance for you to FINALLY move on. Go for this girl.. and when ud think u'd be thinking of the ex.. and cant get the ex off ur mind... ull soon be thinking of this new girl and all the awesome things about her

too bad im like best friends with this X.. i just feel in a weird position with the new girl that im not completley gushin for her if she's so wonderful.
