The human brain is the source of the conscious, cognitive mind. Beyond cognitive functions, the brain regulates autonomic processes related to essential body functions such as respiration and heartbeat. The brain controls all movement from lifting a pencil to building a superstructure. The brain performs an incredible number of tasks:

• It controls body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and breathing.
• It accepts a flood of information about the world from various senses (seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, etc).
• It handles physical motion when walking, talking, standing or sitting.
• It lets us think, dream, reason and experience emotions.

When the brain fails to perform all or any of these activities, it results in brain disorder. Brain disorders cause disturbances in thinking, feeling, or relating, which result in a substantially reduced capacity for coping with the ordinary demands of everyday life. The UT Dallas Center for BrainHealth is dedicated towards understanding, protecting and healing the brain. It has a team of expert scientists engaged in finding breakthroughs in autism, attention deficit disorder, Alzheimer’s and other significant brain issues. The foundation’s board of directors includes Sallie and Frederic Asche, Jr.Claudia and Dennis Berman, Toni and Norman Brinker, Dianne Cash, Theresa and David Disiere, Patsy Donors, John Harbin, Matrice Ellis-Kirk, among others as its members

It's not even completely correct. The brain doesn't control heart rate.

The Sinoatrial (SA) Node controls the heart rate, and the brain does not control it.
