Well myself and my girlfriend had sex for the first time earlier...
She bled quite a bit during/after and its still bleeding 2 hours later...
She's in a fair amount of pain and the bleeding wont stop..
is this normal?

Jeez, I've been with 3 virgins and there was never any continued bleeding more than a few minutes after we finished. Is it poss she's having her period? Sometimes sex can start that.
Is the pain from her vagina or deeper inside. If it's just from inside her vag that's totally normal.

ive read around and apparently its normal for at least overnight...
still quite scared though.

she said it hurt quite a bit... but didnt say anything 
i wasn't going crazy or anything but i wasn't holding back because she wasn't saying anything was wrong...
i'll see how it is today but if it hasn't ceased by today i'll get her to the doctors

Late reply, sorry.
You didn't mentioned if you used enough lube, if at all. But if she said it hurt, then that's your red flag to stop and slowly continue.
By now, the bleeding should stop but if it hasn't then you need to take her to a doctor. Naturally, she's going to be sore for the next few days. No sex until she is COMPLETELY pain free.
And next time, take it slow!

we did not use any lube, however she naturally gets quite wet as it is.
Well thats the thing, the entire time she didn't say it hurt at all, i was of course looking for any pained expressions but all she was doing was 'nice' expressions...
Even afterwards she didnt say 'ooh that hurt', until i asked her and she said yes it did hurt, to which i asked why didnt you tell me. She said because it was 'a nice hurt' so just went with it...
I'm slightly angry at that because i didn't go as easy as i perhaps should have done, and would have done if she'd have even given me a slight hint she was in pain (i don't know why i didnt just presume she was, and go very slow anyway)...
