I know its like a 50/50 kinda deal, but I figured I'd ask..

My girlfriend and I have been together for about 2 years, almost ready to tie the knot, and I've been thinkin about minime's and minihers.. but she told me that with her ex, she tried for an entire year to concieve but got nothing.. she had graduated highschool at the time, so id say she was around 18-19, and
I did know, prior to this, that she was pre-mature and has heavy asthma..

are these all tell-tale signs that she's infertile? or does my wishful thinking still have a chance?

If she really tried for a year to get pregnant, surely she had tests?!?

Of course, there's the chance she only "tried" ... meaning they had sex without birth control and nothing happened.

The infertile person may have been him, but if you want kids and this is a priority, you need to find out.

They have tests for this.

It takes some people yonks to get pregnant. I've hurd of some woman being unable to fall pregnant with one partner but concive easily with another (a sort of compadability thing I guess?)

Being overweight can make falling pregnant dificult as can being very underweight. It would be her partner who was infurtile not her. There are many factors that influence ability to concive but fertility specialists will be able to find out for sure. I may be somthing simple that can be fixed easily.

Also, are you worried about this becuase you would not wish to marry her if you found out she was infertile?

Solution: adoption. \:\)

Although I'm in no position to need to care, I still wonder though. I feel a personal moral obligation to adopt a child when the time comes, but I also really want to have a kid of my own flesh and blood you know? I grew up in a family that really put an emphasis with "You are your Grandfather's only direct blood male descendant. (Semisalic)" *(Like it matters, we're all broke, haha. People just really liked my GPa)

Although, honestly, I kinda came to the idea, I want ~ 3 kids anyway eventually, so maybe 1 or 2 of my own and 1 or 2 (depending) adopted. All well, I dunno.

I have some issues with adoption

1) everyone just wants to adopt babies. There are alot more couples waiting for babies then women willing to give them up for adoption where as there are many older kids who will stay in foster care untill theyre 18 because they are not "cute" enough to be wanted.
2) This is an issue in New Zealand, the number of childern but particularly babies put up for adoption is piss all. There are infirtlie couples who want to adopt but there are not any kids to adopt because if women don't want a baby, unlike way back when, they just abort. So lots of abortions, no babies needing new parents.
3) I think some celebrities (not naming names or anything)are encoraging a trend of "collecting" children of many differnt nationalities. I think adoption from other countries is great especially those who do have full orphanages due to poverty or war etc etc but unless you can aford to take your kid back to their country when they're older and teach them about their culture then it's not so fab.

And that concludes my adoption rant...which I'm sure some one would like to rebut?

Thanks for responding to me guys. im afraid of being pregnant if you must know. my family has a history of complicated pregnancies. both my grandmother and mother almost died due to complications. and im afraid of that.out of 4 women on my mothers side, (my nan and 3 daughters) everyone one but my mother had their tubes tied. maybe 8 or 9 years from now ill be thinking otherwise. but ive always to adopt.

i dont care about the age. i just want a child to have a mother.
