can ADHD and personality disorders occur together?

I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder--BPD when I was 13 and underwent treatment for it. Recently another psycologist diagnosed me with ADHD, I am 25 now. I dont know who is right or if both are present. I always missed my classes but scored the highest grades and even today I dont seem to pay much attention to any one thing for too long, I dropped out of college for the same reasons. I do have symptoms of BPD even after going through with treatment.
Can both ADHD and BPD be present? Is it possible?
I havent decided yet to undergo treatment for ADHD, as i am confused. Any advice...plz?

Yes, it's possible to have just about any combination, and combinations of disorders are unfortunately quite common.
Could I ask what treatment you got for BPD?

The list is too long cos prescriptions kept changes every few weeks, but here's some of them which I remember
At the beginning--mirtazepin, prozac, sertaline, clonazepam etc.
Diazepam, lorazepam were sometimes given. Some sleeping pills were also given.
When I became worse antipsychotics were started--oleanzepin, haloperidol, zuclopenthixol were given. sometimes combined with other meds which I dont seem to recall (I apologize for that) to help reduce the side effects of haloperidol and oleanzepin mostly supportive I think.
All those drugs never really helped me.....believe it or not they increased my rate of harming myself, made me more depressed as I lost touch with few friends I had and dropped out of college (Education was the most important thing in my life) I used to have a very good memory and recalling was easy and now I forget whether I put sugar in my coffee or not, if I ate my breakfast or what I ate.
I think drugs dont help in BPD, counselling and acceptance by atleast few people (parents and boyfriend in my case) helps much better.

They certainly seem to have thrown drugs at it - I think you are right that they aren't much help for personality disorders.

 I dont have ADHD.
I saw the doc again cos I was feeling uneasy and he said he mis-diagnosed cos few of my symptoms were similar to ADHD. He didnt know much about BPD and read more about it after my last visit. I dont think I will see him again.
I only have BPD. But I am happy I wont be put through more meds for a wrong diagnosis.
