Mucus in stool

This is actually a problem i've had once before. There is a yellowish looking mucus in my stool. It's been occurring pretty much every time i have a movement. I've noticed, on occasion, that there is also small traces of blood. Also every now and then, the entire stool looks to be mucus, albeit a small stool.
Basically my question is, could this be something as simple as a diet issue. Or should I just let it be?

I wouldn't let it be. What you really need to do is see a doctor about this, especially when there's any blood at all in the stool. This is not at all normal and could be a sign of any of a large number of medical conditions ranging from minor to very serious.
