Hopefully you haven't recently eaten any peanut butter items like cookies or crackers. There is currently a salmonella problem that seems limited to items made from peanut paste. Kellogs just withdrew all their peanut items from the market. Salmonella is a bacterial infection that can cause mucous in the stool. If you suspect this is the problem, please seek medical attention.
