Okay, I'm not used to posting my own medical problems here but I'm getting a bit confused now by this >__<

Right, well, from like the age of 15 my hair started to turn gray prematurely, fml. People say it's mainly genetic etc, but there isn't really a history of premature graying in the family. So since then I've dyed my hair to cover it. But yeah it's around the crown and mainly but it does spread in strands around my head.

So looking into it, apparently there's a link between premature graying and a a B12 deficiency, causing anaemia. Well, anaemia is something my parents and I have considered for the past few months seeing as I'm often exhausted and fatigued, falling asleep during the day, and I'm quite pale and I've always tended to be thin. I'm also not really a meat fan, I don't eat much of it to be honest, which would explain a diet orientated B12 deficiency.

So, other than "it's genetic", that is the only connection I've come up with. I could be totally off mark though. I just wanted some opinions before I go to the doctor...

I do need to see my GP soon. I HATE blood tests and needles, so I am not looking forward. Tbh, the grayness isn't that much of an issue, I can hide it, it's just what caused me to look into the whole anaemia thing. With exam period coming up, I need to be diagnosed because it makes studying so much more difficult \:\(

You can only find out by taking a blood test. Perhaps you need some supplements and iron?

If it's a B-12 deficiency, iron won't do much good, while if it's an iron deficiency, B-12 won't do much. I think they like to try them out one at a time.

Certainly anaemia should be checked for, and a blood test is the only way to get accurate results.
