Hey, guys; how are all of you? I hope you all aren't doing too bad (:
I really want to start working out and gaining more weight (I'm skinny~!) and make myself look more muscular and physically fit, and I'm a sophomore in HS. However, I'm not sure where to begin and what to do and how to go about it at ALL. Working out is something that has never occurred to me until now and I absolutely know nothing about it. I mean I know a few basic exercises with weights but I really don't know what to do or how to do it. I know proper form for a couple of exercises, but this isn't the kind of stuff I'm talking about
For example: How often should I work out? I know that rest time is very necessary to build muscle, but how long should I work out the days I do work out? What kind of exercises should I do? What do I eat and how much do I eat every day? What habits should I apply to working out? What are some ways of keeping myself motivated?
I know that there is some controversy over working out at a young age, but I'd really like to do this and I won't go overboard on anything and I'll make sure I know what I'm doing before I do it. I know I'm asking for quite a lot, but even when I search websites and stuff, I always get millions of websites telling me millions of different things and I'm always left so confused and frustrated. Please and thank you!!

Ok, to get bigger, it's not just about working out, you're going to need to be watching what you eat. For that, I'd suggest going to a specialist in that area and seeing what works best for you, and so on and so forth.
As for the working out, start light. Maybe just an upper/lower body split. One day, work your upper body, one day your lower. After maybe a few months of this, begin to do splits targeting specific muscles (biceps/triceps, quads, back and shoulders, etc). Just remember, you're just starting out, it takes a lot of time, but if you're dedicated, you'll see the results. Don't get discouraged, and do a lot of research to make sure everything you're doing is safe and won't be causing you any harm.
