I am now 19 and planning to start doing some exercises and start some sporting activities. I have never been able to do so due to hectic schedule I'd had in past but now I've decided I have to gain weight and look a bit chubby. But I am concerned about the gains. Is this age of 19 too late to do that ? How much can I expand my chest ,broaden shoulders or gain muscles on face ? What would be the best strategy ?

I have planned to do lot of running prior to few exercises like pushups, pullups etc. Is that right way to go ?

PS I eat like hell

it's never too late to work out:P, thought it will take a little bit longer than a couple of years ago but not much longer, just due to metabolism slowing down.

I went from 260-170 mostly from push ups pull ups and various light work, though I didn't really beat around the bush, I did push ups every chance I had same with pull ups, most would suggest this would damage you and slow down the progress, but I beg to differ.

Although to really see muscle tone etc you probably will have to manage what you eat, In the past week I've started eating small carrots or crackers every hour and it's made a big difference.

But for seeing muscle tone quickly, that isn't going to work as quick as it did for me if you're over weight because I already lost most of the bulky fat.

Another is my concern that working out just gives you muscles and does not broaden your body structure/skeleton. So would it be useless to work out ? Frankly speaking , I do not want to be muscular , just want a bit wide chest/shoulders.

It'll take a few months but your body and bones and should should get larger to hold heavier muscle.
