Sorry if this is the wrong section.
I get things like this a lot. But today got me wondering.
While sitting in the gym with my friends, I suddenly got this strong feeling mix of nervous, sad, and a general uneasy feeling. I have no reason to be nervous, but I just get like this every so often. Sometimes I wind up shaking, my leg constantly want to move, my skin gets red and hot, and I sometimes almost want to cry. I usually don't care what anyone thinks, but when I get like this for some reason I do.
My friend told me it sounds like anxiety. Could that me it?

It does sound like it could be. Do you find it harder to breath? I have anxiety, and when I have an anxiety attack those are generally my symptoms - minus the redness. Feelings of nervousness/uneasyness, even crying, and especially shaking or being jittery (or 'twitching' to an extent) are fairly normal for anxiety attacks (at least in my experience).
I think you should try talking to your doctor or a psychiatrist, even if you do not wish to take medication.

Yes, my breathing becomes 'erratic'. I can breathe in really deeply, and finally exhale 10-20 seconds later and then suddenly start breathing really fast, and then not breathing much at all.
My girlfriend was just recommending it. It's been going on for a few years, but just recently been making me worry.

Yeah, I myself have (or rather, had) social anxiety for a few years. My chest would feel tight, I'd have trouble breathing, my palms would be sweaty. I know someone who didn't really have a 'reason' for her anxiety, too. She would just randomly have panic attacks. I tried medication and it worked for me, then I gradually weened off it when I felt I no longer needed it.
Best of luck!
