Great,
I just discovered I have something like a pimple near the anus. But it's not a hemorrhoid it's next to the anus. The skin also looks a bit red there. What can I do now? I have a few creams at home but don't really know which one I could apply. Is it true that if it's a pimple then you must not use any creams which have cortisone because cortisone weakens the immune reaction and suppresses it? I also have fucidin cream and a cream which contains iodine.

I marked the spot where this thing is on this pic.
Do you also sometimes have such things? I am getting them more and more often recently and this pisses me off. I never had this in the past.

Hydrocortisone should be as safe there as anywhere, but that isn't terribly safe. It suppresses inflammation without doing anything about the underlying causes that the body has created the inflammation for.
If it's an ordinary zit (an infected sebaceous gland) it's best to leave it until you can squeeze it open. But there are lots of other possible causes of pimples.
To try to prevent future ones, you could try washing in the cleft with some anti-dandruff shampoo containing pyrithione zinc (also called zinc pyridinethione. That stuff has both anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.

thanks. so suppressing an inflammation with cortisone is actually bad because it suppresses the immune reaction by the body?

It doesn't suppress other aspects of the immune system, but it's something that should be used only when really needed, I think.

I think I will just wait wether it goes away on its own.
I do wash down there. This cannot be the reason. In the past I never got this stuff.

i don't think it's an ingrown hair. it's more like a pimple under the skin. i won't try to manipulate it and pop it.
but let's say it's an ingrown hair then what do you do to get rid of it? try to get it out with a hot needle?

By 'hot needle', do you mean one you have sterilised with heat? There's no need to torture yourself with a needle that is still hot when you poke yourself with it.
But I don't imagine trying to get an ingrown hair out there by yourself would be at all easy.

ive had a few ingrown hairs.. they're nasty. if thats what this is, then eventually there will be a lot of pressure in that area. whne it gets like for me i just squeeze it a bit and it like.. pops really bad. lol. it sucks when you shave everywhere.. every day. lately i havent had any though, but a few years back i had one under my arm, and it was sooo fucking painful. i never used a needle, i just washed my hands and squeezed, then once it broke, I cleaned the area to make sure no bacteria got in the open pore.
