I recently got out of a relationship, and our sex was just fine. I've tried to "get" with other girls, but it turns out I can't achieve an erection with any of them. I still see the ex time to time, and usually we have sex just fine, with no problem getting up. What's the deal here? Am I never going to be able to have sex with anyone else?

Welcome to A2A, Saturday night.

You are most likely suffering from first time performance anxiety with the new girls. Are you having any thoughts/questions about previous partners they have been with and how you will compare?

Your ex is a comfortable, known partner and you have no worries about how you will perform. Just relax. It will get better.

Thanks for the reply, but honestly it doesn't really have to do anything with confidence, one of the girls was a virgin, and the other was sort of an intoxicated encounter.

If it was you who was intoxicated, that may be at least partially the answer. Alcohol will inhibit your ability to have an erection.

It seems to be some sort of psychological block, which I expect will fade with time. I'd suggest not trying to have sex with other girls for a while, since failure strengthens the block.

What Pete said, take a break from sex for awhile and that includes with your ex.

Clearly, if everything works when you're with your ex, then it's not a physical problem. The only other option is psychological. I agree that the best treatment is probably to remain celibate for awhile.

I have a shy cock when it comes to sex with new people. I find that the trick that works for me, when I'm going to have sex with a new partner, is to say, "When I'm with someone I'm really attracted to ... like you ... for the first time, sometimes my cock doesn't get hard as fast as I'd like." They're complimented, and you're off the hook to be this stud with instant steel in your pants. If you get good with your fingers and mouth, you can give your cock a break!

Would using herbs/medicines for erectile dysfunction help? I know I seem really impatient, but it's embarresing and I want to get over this cockblock.

You don't have erectile dysfunction because you clearly said that you can obtain an erection when with your ex. I suppose since the problem seems to be psychological, any pill that you want to work would probably work.
