On keeping conversations going or at least starting on. I seem to only succeed in doing this if I'm either drunk or high.
Some one, post something and i'll try to have a conversation with you, I want to see how long I'll last.
Your topic can be about anything (except politics and religion)

The key is to ask 'open' questions, questions that need a substantial answer, rather than 'closed' questions that can be answered with 'yes' or 'no' or something equally curt.
What sort of topics are you interested in?

I don't necessarily have any favorite topics because I don't talk much.

What do you like to do when you're not on this board?

Not to be dickish or anything but I doubt you'll find keeping conversation going on a message board any help in keeping conversation going in real life. The dynamics are just to different, I think. I suffer the same affliction about being able to speak or converse with people in real life. Here or on other message boards I can ramble on endlessly, and have done so for 5 years just on this forum, but it hasn't helped me at all in real life.
On the other hand, it couldn't hurt anything I guess.

Some of us are just quiet and it takes a while before we can engage in mindless banter with someone. I won't lie and say it makes for the easiest of "relationship finding" but I think it does help us in "relationship building." The reason is once we do find someone we feel comfortable with we really do work at being a good friend and work at moving beyond the shallow pleasantries where some good conversationalist have trouble moving the relationship past.
Just because someone is outgoing does not mean they are really open. And, just because someone is reclusive does not mean they are really closed off.
