ok im sorry to ask this but this is my first time to have a real GF and we are moving to the next step and least night i stared to play with her but she was a little smelly down there. i guess what im trying to ask is that normal.

The smell of a woman is something that kind of takes some getting used to. For most woman I wouldn't call it pleasant, but you sort of develop an acquired taste for it after awhile. It's sort of like alcohol... can be a bit hard to take at first but its the best thing ever once you're used to it.

Some kind of smell is to be expected. I once heard some say that the vagina is "like an armpit with a hole" so that should give you an idea of how gross it can get.

If your girl's not taking care of herself that's one thing, but there's pretty much always going to be a distinct scent - it's just a matter of how severe it is. Try going down on her after she's had a shower and see how that is.

Whatever the case may be, I'd recommend that you don't give up on eating pussy. It's a very important skill to have. Hell even if you never really get a taste for it, you should learn to suck it up - your partners will thank you. Profusely.

Everyone has a particular scent, but she shouldn't be stinky down there. If I were going to do that sort of thing, it would have to be right after she takes a shower, regardless of whether or not her vagina stinks.
