How do you remember to take the Pill?

One of my biggest fears regarding sex is getting pregnant. I really, really, really, don't want to get pregnant. I've been abstaining (I'm a virgin) and I love the carefree, worry free, and controlable aspect of it. I'm in the process of trying to come to terms with the fact that I may not find a guy that is going to wait for when I'm ready to marry (I'm in no rush) and from this comes the thought of having to take some sort of birth control, which feels completely overwhelming. Of course for extra protection the boyfriend would definitely be wearing a condom, every time. Depo-Provera sounded good until I read the risks and possible side effects. The pills are most effective if taken everyday at the same time. I have a horrible memory and imagine I would forget all the time. The patch seems easier, but what I forget to change it.... Ughhhhhhh, I'm really hating the idea of having sex.

So anyway...how do you girls remember o take your pill on time/everyday so that they're most effective? Do you have any tips or tricks?

The best way to try to remember to do anything is to link it with something else that you do on a regular basis. Like when you brush your teeth, take your pill.

But what if I don't get up at the same time everyday?? Like if I were taking the pill this past semester at school, I'd be all over the place. Some days I was up at 8 am for work and when I didn't work I'd get up two hours later for class. Sundays I would wake up even later.

...both, but since I've never had sex and you can't hate something you've never had, blah, blah, blah...you know what they say. I hate that it's so easy to get pregnant. Right now is good, I don't have to worry about taking anything. It's Heaven.

My wife always used to take hers before going to bed.. You can put an alarm or reminder in your cell phone if you use it.. But I would stick to doing it when you go to bed or get up.. Taking it a few hours +/- is not going to matter.
