Hey guys...
I hadnt pulled back my foreskin in a looong time, lol maybe at least 10 years or something (Im 20 now), so after finding this site and discovering what smegma was, I was sure I would find some when I pulled it back for the first time.
But to my surprise it's totally clean down there, and I pull it back all the way usually once a day and its always the same, looking absolutely clean and no smegma whatsoever. I thought I just didn't know what it was, but I saw pictures of it and yea definitely I don't have any of that stuff down there.
Is this normal? I mean I guess I should consider myself lucky if I dont have to clean it off and it doesn't build up, but you'd think after 10 years there would be a heap of it down there.
So I mean basically, its a good thing and nothing to be worried about that I dont produce any smegma? How the heck can that be explained? After 10 years? Is it possible I just dnt produce it at all? Is that extremely rare? is it "normal"? or something to be concerned about?

I've heard one suggestion that there is no problem with smegma if nothing gets in from the end - that a tight foreskin means less trouble with smegma, because it results from dirt and bacteria getting in from outside, and without those the oils produced inside cause no trouble at all. I don't know how true that may be.

Yeah I don't buy that theory. The problem is that dirt and bacteria get trapped in the smegma which then cause the problems, not the other way around.

Until a few years ago I had never retracted my foreskin properly, but when I finally did, there was a really thick coating of smegma glued all the way around the base of my head and a bit beneath the head too.

That is surprising that you didn't have any smegma after all that time. I have heard this situation from others though too. It seems some guys produce more smegma than others, but I have no idea why. Smegma is just a simple accumulation of dead skin cells that naturally come off from the glans and inner foreskin, mixed with some oils, sweat, pheremones, and any drops of residual urine and semen that may get under the foreskin. So I can't imagine that your penis wouldn't be producing these ingredients, and if it is, where is it all going if its not accumulating under the foreskin? The only situation I can think of is, if you get "ballooning" of the foreskin when you pee. In some uncut guys, when they urinate without pulling the foreskin back, the pee fills the inside of the foreskin and balloons a bit, before flowing out of the foreskin opening. This would automatically wash away any accumulated smegma under the foreskin.

The balloning theory is a stretch. I don't think that's plausible since he can retract. And even if he couldn't, idk... the dynamics of that happening are a bit much.

Well, he can retract now, but he never retracted before (even if he could, he didn't). It depends on how long his foreskin is, in how much overhang he has. Those with long foreskins and quite a bit of overhang tend to get the ballooning effect more than those with shorter foreskins and no overhang. Urine ballooning in uncut guys is more common than you think.
