I don't understand why people supposedly can't have both. Good luck - you seem to have a good head on your shoulders regardless.

Asperger's syndrome is related to autism, but not as severe. People with it usually have normal or high intelligence, but are loners who don't make friends easily, don't readily understand social interactions, are physically uncoordinated and clumsy, and have trouble coping with change. It seems to be a matter of brain circuitry that should be in place at birth but isn't. There is no cure, but people with it can learn a lot of the abilities that other people take for granted.

Well, Asperger people can most certainly have girlfriends and love them, and ordinary friends too. But the uncoordination (which is apparently due to poor proprioception, the sense that tell us where our body parts are without our looking) is usually there. It's always possible you have a mild case, or you have been misdiagnosed. On what basis was Asperger's diagnosed?

Sounds like me, lol. I'm fairly athletic, although anything that relies on hand eye coordination (racket sports, throwing in general, etc) I'm horrible at. I'm clumsy, although that could just be due to my age (damn these legs are longer than they were a couple years ago). I'm also incredibly nervous in social situations and have a tough time relating to others (with a few exceptions), making me not able to think straight and horrible at communicating with alot of people. Maybe I have a mild case, lol. But hey, I have ADD, so that would put me in a similar boat as you.

Well I don't have many friends but I do have a girlfriend and I love her even though she thinks im weird sometimes. I also used to have problems doing things and I would get upset when things wern't done in a proper way. It still pisses me off when things change but I manage that now, although in my room I have everything set out properly and its very clean. Im really shy as well.
