There is no real average penis size. But it's definitley between 5 and 6 inches. I'm guessing probably 5.5 inches.
It doesn't really matter what your penis size is when flaccid. Some guys become quite large when erect and their penis is small when flaccid.
I can't think of much else that would make it look bigger. Really, I wouldn't be concerned about what other guys think about your penis size. Males suffer from penis envy, not women.

Just to add that that average inbetween 5 or 6 inches is for adults. Its nearly impossible to figure out an average from ages still in puberty since u never really know when its gonan stop growing.

You're a very respectable size for an adult, and considerably bigger than average for your age. Don't forget that the guys who swing theirs about in the locker room are generally those who are bigger than average. It's even known for guys to work up a semi to try to look what they think is a respectable size.

I take your point, Steve. But penis size is much more a psychological self-esteem issue than anything else. You don't need much at all to produce offspring, and even for giving pleasure to a woman, while a bigger one may be helpful, a finger can do a lot down there, and most penises are bigger than that. Vaginas are stretchy, and even a tampon fits in tightly. With a small penis you may have to pay more attention to technique, but by doing so you may well out-perform a guy who relies on his size alone to do the job.
Even in terms of psychology, penis size matters more to most men than it does to most women. Most women put personality well ahead of anything else.
I hope that puts it more in context. Yes, you are smaller than average - half of us must be. But you're not pathologically small, and you don't even know if you have finished growing.

I am still growing, i re-measured today and i'm now 4.7 inches. I measured three times just incase i was wrong (i allways do), but still, i heard that size doesn't matter...when you're past a certain point in size.
So you think i'm past that point? i don't know where the "point" is so i'm wondering if any of you lot know. And, if i were to have a one night stand, would i get laughed at? i know i've asked all this BS before, but i want a straight answer. Thanks..

I don't think there is any definite "point".
Girls generally know better than to make any comment about a guy's size, unless it's clearly big. They know how sensitive guys are about it (even big guys are often afraid they're small).

This isn't really a high-brow initial post, and I'm sorry if I'm defiling the newbie-rules by posting here first.
I'm 21, and my penis is 8.75 inches long and approximately 6 inches in girth. I'm kind of skinny, and pretty pale however, so it all balances out in the end.
By the way, I'm curious. Are we supposed to attempt to straighten our penis as we measure it? (as in a slight bend?). Because if so, I would be roughly 9 inches.

I've just finished watching a programme on t.v an hour ago. It was called "man's best freind", guess what it was about? lol. Anyway, halfway through a doctor came on and showed you how to measure the penis properly, i couldn't beleive it. All this time i have been measuring wrong, so i measured myself in the proper way. I'm actually 5.3 inches long and 4.5 girth, thats made my day that!

Ha, this was on at about 12:00 ish.I have insomnia, yeah it's all U.S football and baseball, but you sometimes get the odd boxing show. I used to measure myself by just putting a tape measure to the side of my dick. This progamme said you have to lie on your back and grab the end to straighten it (mine is pretty straight anyway though) then get a ruler and push it against your dick..so i did..exactly what the doctor did...and i'm 5.3.

that'll work. measure from the base of the shaft to the end of the penis and you have your length.
While erect, wrap the ruler, or whatever you use, around your penis. Where the ruler comes back around and touches where to ruler starts is where you need to look at to find out your girth. Average girth is between 4.5" to 5.5"

Wrapping the ruler around works well if you're using a sewing measuring tape. Otherwise, you can use a strip of paper, mark on it where it gets back to itself, then unroll the strip and measure using any ruler.
Girth is the measure you need for selecting the right condom size, since tightness of fit is the important variable.

Which brings me to the subject of penis envy. Sigmund Freud, father of psychoanalysis, coined the term to describe his idea that women wish they had penises, and deeply envy men for having them. Decades ago, feminist psychology thoroughly discredited this notion. Little boys see that women have breasts much more often than little girls see that men have penises, yet Freud said nothing about "breast envy." On the other hand, I'm convinced that penis envy is a real affliction. Women don't suffer it. Men do. Men, envy other men whose penises are larger than theirs. Therefore creating the basis of the mentality where penis size overwhelmingly matters, which is what you suffer from, most guys suffer from.
