I have a cist on my left wrist, which I will be having surgery to have removed. but have not yet had my consultation. Any idea's on how long I will be out of work if any?

You really didn't give us much info to go on. If it's just something under the skin, I don't see why you would need to miss any work unless you work with your hands. If its deeper, then only your doctor can answer that.

Its under the skin. They have to cut me open and cut out the wall of the cist. Im just trying to get some idea about how long I will be out. Not an exact time.

Usually something like that would just be done under local anaesthetic, they bandage it up, and you go home straight after. If your work is something that might put a lot of strain on the wound you might have to be careful, but otherwise you would probably be able to go straight back to work.
It might be different if the cyst is very deep.

It would be minor surgery. Probably only take a few minutes and I doubt you'll miss any work... Unless it's deep like everyone else has said.

Thank you. My doctor did say that I would most likely be asleep for it. That they will probably do it in the OR. But as I said, I haven't had my consultation yet. I just can't wait till its done. Its getting huge and embarrassing.
