at school i hit my leg on a shelf under a computer desk. and although i dont bruise easily i did. it has been two months and it still hasn't gone away. i heard that if a bruise doesnt go away your (white?) blood cells could be low. this is impossible because i am taking medications to raise it. i am also on the pill form of chemo for lupus. i dont know, what do you guys think?

Bruising depending where on the body it is, can seem to take a long time to go away, but 2 months is way too long i think. I would go see a doctor, just to make sure its nothing untoward, which it most probably isn't, but its always best to be sure, good luck and let us know how it goes *hugs*

Wsomeone i know had chemo for her cancer. what had happened is her white blood cells got so ridiculously low that she got sores everywhere in her mouth, down her esophagus. it was horrible. she ended up in the hospital and found out her cell count was at a whopping 0. so basically i would say the best thing to do is see your dr because when your dealing with something like cancer, never take anything for granted

i wasnt saying he/she does. all i was doin was giving an example of what cann happen. i mean this lady was in the hospital getting treated for cancer and they were working to raise the white blood count when her white blood count dropped. so nothing is 100% if there are any problems ask the dr, thats why they get paid

You're taking medication to raise your WBC count? Not all drugs at a given dose work in all people. Whatever you're taking might not have raised your WBC count to a high-enough level.

Bruising is also a symptom of high blood sugar, among other things.

You need to consult your doctor about this.

I agree with SteveA. You have lupus, you are on a form of chemotherapy for it as well as taking medication to increase your white blood cell count - all these could interact with the healing process, so you do need to talk to your doctor. A bruise not going away for two months is something your doctor ought to know about.

Well if it were me i would call the dr to let him know. he may want u in earlier or may want to add some additional testing. He may even just say dont worry about it until you come in. Its best to let them know
