Today, in our small youth group, a girl talked about how she went on a mission trip to the San Fransisco Bay are. (you can already tell were this is going.) She said that the churches are smal, because of the gay and lesbian community. About then I snapped, I said "no they are small, because of how Christians treat them." They all looked at me weird and then said "no they are small, because of all the gay people" I agian said that it wasn't true and that if Christian would treat them right then they would be in church, because a sin is a sin… if you beleive that it's a sin. They all said that it was a different kind of sin. I said no it's not it's the same thing as lying and cheating, if you beleive that it's a sin. Thy said no because youtry to stop lying and cheating and you don't stop trying to be gay. The girl that said that has tattos, peircings, and smokes. I just wanted to say well the Bible also says that tattos and peircing and smoking are all Peagan ritchuals and that you shouldn't do them, but yet you still do. I didn't want to be mean, so I didn't say it.
So basically I don't know what I should say to her.
I know bad grammer.

You usually can't tell them anything, deek. Maybe, hate the sin, love the sinner.
As for the churches, I would imagine the churches in SF are just as big (or small) as anyplace else.
The whole city isn't crammed with Gay people. There's just a lot of them and they live in certain districts more than others. The Castro District being a major one. According to Wikipedia, the Gay population is 15.4%.
I did Google San Francisco churches and of the ones I saw, some are magnificent! But, it could be that they keep many other churches there on the downside in scale due to earthquakes. Anyway, they appeared normal size to me and the churches wouldn't be small just because of Gay people. Gay churches can occupy cathedrals, as well. At 15%, how much difference could it make?

Not much of a difference.
To us a church of 50 is a really small church, when your used to a church of 300-400.

Oh my gosh!! If I ever see them I'm soo going to piss them off and yell and scream and spit on them (they are as worthless as the dirt).
Also I'm tellin my bestfreind tonight about the guy and what all happened between me and him. I think it will help if I tell one person who knows the guy. She already hates him so i'm hurting his rep with this person.

Just told my bff and she took it very very well. Said the guy is a big jerk and that she can't stand him. I did lie I said that I wasn't gay even though I am. I think I'll tell her when I have a boyfreind that I've been dating for at least a month.

Being an ordained minister I should probably take more time to read the entire bible.
But as far as I'm aware, Tattoos piercings and smoking were never said to be sinful or pagan. Actually as I recall. The people with Jesus had piercings.
The only reason I could actually see tattoos and piercings being considered sinful is self harm which is sinful, and the tiny bit of self harm that comes it I don't think should be considered any more sinful then going to work even though you don't feel well.
I wouldn't see smoking as sinful based on "pagan rituals" because people don't smoke for spiritual/ritual reasons. However I'd see it quite sinful because it's self harm that's not really good for you in any way.
And I disagree with A sin is a sin. I highly doubt God is going to send you to hell for all eternity on a sin count. For example. I'm pretty sure you're going to get looked down on a hell of a lot more for murdering and raping than you ever would because because you were Lazy(sloth one of the 7 deadly sins.) However, being gay, if it really were a sin, which being gay isn't "Laying with a man as if he were a woman" is. meaning your sexual preference doesn't matter. I highly doubt it'd be on the top of the list and it'd certainly be lower on the list of sinfulness than smoking because smoking hurts you along with others while screwing another your gender doesn't really.
Although her comment on trying to stop lying and cheating, isn't always the case and trying isn't doing, therefore her point is wrong. Just thought I'd bring that up.
However. As far as things go. People, Christians more than others in general though, will gag at a gnat and swallow a camel as they say.
I know many Christians who drink, smoke, cut, whore around, lie cheat steal. Yet whine about saying "God damn." or being gay as a sin. So as far as helping you. Nope. we really can't.
If you really want to get at her I'd just say point out all the sins she does and ignores. And ask if being gay is so wrong, why it can be pleasurable, and why God would make someone want to do anything with someone of the same sex. So on and so forth.
