I played soccer (or "football" as it's called outside the US) for many years. This was the guy we all wanted to be. He's like the "Michael Jordan" of soccer...and he's black. (BTW, the team I was on was mostly latin...and the South American latins always do well in world competition.)
The first step to conquering your anger, at least in this case, is to know the other person is wrong.

Do you guys consider yourselves too competitive sometimes? And if you do how do you like... tone it down?
I realized that I tend to get really competitive. Like earlier on this week during the soccer game I got into a physical fight with one of the girls from the other university cause she kept saying or as she said "joking" by saying "spics and niggas can't play soccer. get the fuck off the field".

Its the lowest, most ignorant insult there is to attack someones race. THe only thing I can think of more fucked up is to attack someones handicap, like Doing the 'MS' walk behind some poor bastard who suffers from the disease, who is walking down the street in front of you.
If it did not anger you, then you should be ashamed.
I am in Utah, so there is only like 5 black guys here total, but I happen to know 2 of them, used to know 1 more but he died last year. That was fucked up BTW, same age as me, knew him since kindergarten, and he dies of a fucking heart attack at 37?
anyways, any of them would of beat some ass over it, and I think you should of as well. If not physical violence then complain to the refs and officials about it. Most U's have conduct codes, especially for sports teams. It could end up with her suspension.
I however prefer the knock some fucking teeth out method.

I mean it was stupid but I let my temper get the best of me. I'm not really suspended for long from the team but they're not allowing me to play the next 2 games. But it just sucks cause like... I could have calmed down but I didn't. I just feel so damn ignant and it bothers me that I let her get to me.. like... idk... ugh. damn.  I wish I could rewind time.... and I feel bad that I got satisfaction from punching her dead in her face. I don't feel good about being yelled at by my coach. It was like... the worst day ever. And I'm a friggin freshman... sucks man.... I feel like I perpetuated the stereotype. Now I'll be known as another violent negro lol. It's not funny cause I've been getting that vibe since like... before we had our first game. err whatev. suck it up Abi. move on... grrrrrrrr

I don't see how what you did was worse than what she said.
Her punishment should at least be equal, if not greater, than yours.
And, you knew we'd want to know that and that it is a very important part of the story.

I'm sorry, but if there's no one on campus to handle it, go to a local chapter of the NAACP or something.
Unless you feel you handled it well enough.
I bet the bitch doesn't use those words within earshot of you again!
Or, you could try talking to her. Just be nice. Extend the olive branch. Educate her on how painful words can be. (Her and others)
Then, if she continues to give you shit, beat her ass again!
It's so hard to say what the best policy is here, but maybe the university didn't follow it.

It depends on what it is. I usually don’t care unless there is money involved. I take calf roping and barrel racing very seriously. A fuck up can loss me a top place and that check. The better the place the better the check. I could be sitting in 2nd or even 1st and I’ll critique my ride and say I should have done this.. that.. Been a little faster ..bla bla.. I eat myself up.
A few years ago I ran in a big barrel race and the morning I rose got the winning time. Held that time threw 995 horses until the 3ed to the last horse came in and beat my time by a 10th of a second. I had about $20,000 dollars ripped away from me over a 10th of a second. ALL I could think is if I had been faster…she wouldn’t have done it. Yea, I’m very hard on myself with big competitions.
I was like 7 when I started playing soccer. I stopped after 6th grade. I was never really competitive, I just did my job.
When I was like around 12 - 13 I tried motocross… lol I got bored with it. I got a plaque for a 3ed place and then one for a 5th place. I could care less about going fast. I just like going high and tricking. When I was hitting air and swinging my legs around my dad just pulled the plug on the racing. - I didn’t take it too seriously. I’m happy jumping my home made hills and hitting the woops in the back pasture.
