If a woman is diagnosed with Genital Herpes after 10 years in a monogamous relationship, what are the chances that her partner has been monogamous? Both had many relationships prior to each other. IP: Logged |

1.my daughter has 12 open confirmed herpes. She has been ill for13 days, open sores for10 days. She says she had them in FEB-00,one sore on vagina and it weny away,so this would be 2nd outbreak. Is this possible? 2.If oozing fluid gets on sheets etc., can it be passed to another person? 3.If contagious fluids have drained onto her skin and I touch area, can I get herpes? 4. If fluids get on toilet seat, can it be passed to another person? 5.Can you get herpes by blood to blood contact thru a cut or the same way HIV is transmitted IP: Logged |

Herpes virus is transmitted by touch, not blood, though infected fluids could transmit this disease. Your daughter sounds like she should consider anti-viral therapy (e.g., zovirax, famvir, valtrex) given the severity and frequency of attacks. She should discuss this with her doctor.IP: Logged |

I've only been infected recently so I can't answer all your questions but I highly recommend you go to www.racoon.com or www.herpes.net - the boards there are very helpful. Is your daughter taking any meds? They will shorten the outbreak and the pain. It is possible that this is her 2nd outbreak b/c nothing is typical about herpes. Herpes is transmitted through skin to skin contact - not through blood. Sorry I can't answer your questions too thoroghly, but I don't want to give you the wrong info. IP: Logged |

approx a couple days prior to my monthly period, i have a rash that breaks out in my pubic hair, and along my underwear crease on my inner thigh. They just look like small red dots, and go away a week after. They don't ooze, but sometime dry up. It reminds me of pimples on the face. They do not hurt unless i press hard aginst them. I have never had sexual intercourse, but i have had oral sex with two partners. The gynocologist just gives me lotrisome cream. It doesn't really make them go away, they go away on their own. Any ideas? IP: Logged |

I noticed a bump, in the crease of my leg where my underwear sits. I went to the gynocologist, had it checked out, and was told it was follicuitis. I was put on an antibiotic, that didn't seem to work. But it went away on it's own. The bump was painless, unless my underwear hit it where it would get a little irritated. The only way I can explain it is that it looks like a red bump. So, for a while I was convinced it was just an irritation from my underwear. Until I found another bump, except this one is hard to notice. It's located in the upper part of my pubic area, no irritation, and it's almost hardly noticeable, the size of the tip of a pin. But it's worrying me. Neither of these bumps look like the pictures I've seen, or sound like descriptions of what hepes or gential warts are supposed to look like or feel like. I'm also confused considering I went to the gynocologist and she said all my tests came back negative, and the bump was nothing to worry about. I'm very embarrassed about them. Please help. What should I do, is it anything to worry about? IP: Logged |

i have HPV-associated with genital warts and my "warts" look nothing like the pictures. as a matter of fact i've only had a couple of them and they go away on their own and like you they are very tiny white dots. they don't hurt and hardly noticable. it took three years for my paps to come up abnormal. if i were you--although your recent tests have been negative and you feel like something could be wrong go in about every 4-6 months to get retested. reason is because there is no other symtom of HPV -- those bumps are the only hints and it's good to find out IF you have it at an early stage so it doesn't turn into cancer. good luck! I have been seing this guy for about 4 months. He told me that he was with someone with herepes however, he has never been diagnosed with it. He has had a history of shingles all of his life. After a night together a few months ago, I was unusally sore and swollen. I went to the doc and had every STD test done possible and everything came back negative. Well just this week, I finished off of my period, and thought I had a yeast infection this was on Tuesday. Because I had some discharge. On Wednesday, I notice that in the creases of my vaginia it was raw. Almost like the excess moisture caused it to rub raw and it was itchy and tingley. On Thursday,I went and bought some monistat to help cure the yeast infection. By the end of the day I was SUPER SWOLLEN!!, and I itched and burned something awful. Today is Friday and finally in the afternoon all of the swelling has went down, however, I have noticed these water looking blisters. There are a few around my clit and towards the opening of vagina. I have also noticed that the outside of my lips are red and itch, as well as my rectum. I am still having the tingley, itchy feeling. could someone Please help, and let me know there thoughts, opinons, same expereinces??? I would really apperciate it. Thanks IP: Logged |

It is unclear what you have, though the "water looking blisters" with the "tingley" feeling does sound like it may be herpes. Usually these are more painful than itchy, however. I would suggest going back to your doctor to let him or her see the blisters. If it is an initial case of herpes, there are a number or good medications that can significantly decrease the outbreak time.IP: Logged |

**The water blisters only lasted 24 hours. Were gone the next day. The itching has been way more sever then the tingley, but I did wake up with a cold sore on my mouth. Can you give a guy herpes from oral sex if you have a coldsore on your mouth? Is it possible that this could be just a sever yeast infection, because I do have a thick discharge.IP: Logged |

Yes, you can give a guy genital herpes from oral sex if you have a herpes cold sore (most cold sores are due to the herpes virus). You can also get genital herpes from a guy's mouth if he has oral herpes and goes down on you.The watery blisters sound very much like herpes, but don't usually go away in a day. You could have a yeast infection, given the discharge and itchiness, but the smart thing to do is see the doc for a quick pelvic exam. IP: Logged |

Yours sounds similiar to mine in that I thought it was a yeast infection, treated it as such and a week later the blisters showed up. They lasted for 4 days and finally cleared up in a week. I did go to the Dr. who swabbed the blisters to culture them and then a blood test. IGG & IGM titer to see if it was a new or old infection. I would say if you can go when you have the blisters, go, if not get a blood test. IP: Logged |

I don't want to alarm you. However, If you think that something might be wrong see another doctor, or schedule another visit. If you have had parteners the danger is real, even if you test negative. It took me years to find a doctor to diagnose me correctly. It could be nothing, or it could be the early stages of something that you stand a better chance of fighting if you are diagnosed. Good Luck!IP: Logged |

I have HPV and Herpes. It took five years and 5 doctors to diagnose the Herpes. Lana, I have been in a truely monogamous relationship for six years. The HPV was taken care of with cryotherapy. I have not had any trouble since, However I have the kind you can't see. The problem is that I have been on preventive Valtex for 4 months now and I seem to be getting worse. I am in an almost costant state of outbrake. Is it possible that I am finaly going to get better after this, or is this just another in a long line of disappointments. Of coarse it takes two months to get in with my hot-shot doctor. Then he has all of 15 minutes for me. What do you do when you have done it all, and nothing works?IP: Logged |

i recently contracted herpes. That was a month ago and i have had no visible recurrances. I have read that people can have constant, invisible outbreaks (virus shedding), is this true? I am terrified that I'll never have a normal relationship again. Any advice would be wonderful.IP: Logged |
