how do you tell the difference between the a yeast infection or and outbreak of herpes? My first outbreak caused me to believe it was yeast infection until it got worse. Do I just have to use the yeast medicine and wait to see if the itching gets worse before I start taking my herpes meds?

They are quite differnet. Yeast is a white curd-like discharge that is often itchy. Herpes is a painful blistering rash on the outer lips of the vagina.

Right and they both itch. That is how my first outbreak of herpes started, I thought it was a yeast infection. Then I got the blisters. Why I ask is because I got a curdy discharge last week and itch so I treated as yeast but I am still a little itchy. Do I move to the next level and treat with my herpes medicine?

I'd so no. Curdy discharge is not usually associated with herpes, and why take a pill for no reason. I think you should get checked by your doc.

Okay I guess I was not too detailed. I have been to the Dr. during an outbreak and know I have herpes. I thought is was a yeast inf. & treated it so, then I had an outbreak. So when it starts to itch and burn how do you know it is yeast or herpes? I do not want to wait around all uncomfortable to see if it is herpes when I could be on my meds.
