I was wondering what they do at physical exams and if any guys have evere worried about getting a semi/erection during the exam. If anyone comes close touching my stuff I usually start to get hard, does anyone else have that problem. And any advice for controlling it at the doctors office. IP: Logged |

Alot of what the doc does at a physical exam will depend on your age. So, I'm gonna give you the "whole" story, and maybe he/she will only do part. Certainly they'll look at all the equipment to make sure everything is OK. They'll feel of the scrotum and testicles to make sure there are no signs of bumps/things that shouldn't be there. They will press into the area by the scrotum and have you cough one way, then the other, when doing this they are checking for hernias that if there may need to be removed. If you're older, they'll insert a finger into your anus (ouch!) to check your prostate. But, they may acutally take a look back there for other signs of problems. A physical exam is not sexual at all. However, our "stuff" has a mind of it's own and usually responds when someone touches it or explores the area. THIS IS NORMAL, happens to the best of us in exams and there is NOTHING you can do to stop it! IF if happens, although a bit embarassing, pay no attention to it, the doctor won't. Remember, they see penises all day long and have had the experience of seeing them go erect many time! They are just doing there job, and believe me.......they certainly understand your equipment and how it works. One tip....make sure you're good and clean all over and you might want to not pee before you go for a physical....sometimes they want a sample of urine for some tests. Overall, you have nothing to worry about, and think of it as a way to be sure your're good and healthy. WHen you get my age (early 40's....you're supposed to go have ALL of it done one time per year!) Do yourself a favor and be healthy, get used to having physical exams, they really are no big deal!IP: Logged |

The rectal thing usually becomes a yearly deal when you're in your 30s/40s. However, it is also up to the doc and he/she may do it periodically before then. Its a bit uncomfortable but only lasts a few seconds and I'd rather be safe than sorry in that department!IP: Logged |
