**how, not hot ** I am an uncircumsised male and I have had pearly penile papules for some time. The papules on the top side of my coronal ridge are not very noticeable by others, but the ones on the underside of the head are easily noticeable during intimate contact. I was wondering what men with pearly penile papules think the best way to tell a girlfriend (ESPECIALLY the first time she sees them) about pearly penile papules? Thank you [This message has been edited by cb (edited December 03, 2000).] IP: Logged |

Why say anything at all? PPP is a common thing, many of us have them and they really are no big deal. If she sees them and is curious then explain them to her. Of course, if this were an STD I'd be saying talk about it first....its not, so don't worry!IP: Logged |

They are small goosebump-like things that hairs grow out of, if I'm not mistaken.IP: Logged |

dear mark, ppp's are most common on the penises head, but also appear on the shaft and sac. They are small, shiny, and as the name suggests, pearly in appearence. Herpes has a duller look, and are often described as "caulliflower" in looks, which means that they are wrinkled, just as an ordinary wart is. They are also white, and can appear all over the penis. It is unlikely that you will have caught anything from oral sex, the chances of catching anything are much lower when you have oral. STDs are caught as a result of the exchange of blood, which is contained in the semen saliva, the vagina. If you have any doubts, go to your sexual health clinic, (GUM clinic in UK) for free NHS advice and treatment. You will feel embarrssed, but the doctor will not. STDs are commonplace. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH CATCHING AN STD, JUST WITH PASSING IT ON. sex is normal, and as in social interaction you may get a cold, in sexual interaction you may get an STD. Just remember to take percautions when having penatrative sex (in UK, condoms are available free at your GUM clinic) Hope you are ok, happy sex-life Yours, as ever UNITED KINGDOMIP: Logged |

this is also my first time hearing about pearly penile papules, ofcorse i have something on my penis thats why im here.i did not find a specific pic of ppp on this site, but wut i have looks just like the first pic in the herpes link to the left. on the head you will see what could be described in many ways. i do not have any of the herpes symtoms shown, no red spots, no blisters, no pain or discomfort of any kind. as oposed to a califlower type growth i describe it as more like a neatly laid out patch of bumps on the head, sortof in a grid pattern packed closly togehter, this is not mentioned in the herpes link. so my question is, are these ppp? man i hope so. or is this like some kind of side effect of herpes, man i hope not. does anyone have some good pics of ppp? the thing that has me debating is that they are not pearly, there just plain skin colord and are only on the topside of the head and around the rim of the head, none on the shaft. i went to a doc some time ago, but we all know how good they are to a guy with no insurance. he said he never had seen anything like this, gave me some condylox and to cover his ass he refered me to an even more expensive speshalist. i did not go to the refered doc, the bill for this one visit was 250$. so i used the condylox and it did hurt like hell and alot of skin peeled off, but they did not go away. sorry if im long winded here but i wanted to include as much info as i cood so someone might have an easy time helping me, thanx. Well, what you said sounds like pearly penile papules - especially the fact that they are mostly on the ridge of the glans. Anyhow, for a picture of what ppp's look like, go to http://www.askjeeves.com and type in pearly penile papules in the search box. There's a picture there that shows exactly what they look like so you can compare it to what you have. Hope this helps.

ok, i went to that site, typed in the words and got plenty of links, lots of them , perhaps way too many. i found only one pic of ppp and it did not look anything like what i have. maby i am a poor surfer.after reading this site for a long time it is aparent to me the need for a bunch of pics showing ppp, there on the shaft, there on the head, on the ridge? seems to me theres alot of diffrent kinds of ppp. WE NEED SOME PICS! the thing is someone says they got white bumps under there skin, the reply is ppp. white bumps on the head the reply is its ppp. non white bumps on the head or ridge, the repy is its ppp. could the doc i saw not know about this? the best pic of what i have is still in the herpes link, its the first pic right at the top of the page, i see the herpes blisters they are showing, but in the lower right hand corner of the pic you can see a roughnes on the head. the ridge in this pic looks normal to me. my bumps are in a large patch right smak on the top side of the head. the sides of my head are smooth the top is bumpy just like the guy in the pic. what im hoping is that guy has both herpes and ppp. all this describing and answering you guys do could be cut down alot if there were a good set of pics showing every type, place, and looks of all kinds of ppp. thanx again for your help and keep up the good work here, you guys are selfless.
