Concernedteen is right that people do lie, even under an anonymous nick; and not just 14 year olds. But he is wrong in putting in the "all". There really are 14 year olds who are much larger than average and who answer honestly. There are also 14 year olds who are much smaller than average; but they are less likely to answer, or answer honestly.

That is the problem with this sort of survey, and with talk at school. Those who feel inadequate are less likely to say their true size, which leaves the survey with mainly above average answers, giving a false perception.

For the record I am 5"; at 14 I would have been less than that, though I don't know exactly.

If a man ends up having a 10 inch or longer erect penis, its a pretty good chance that his penis was very big when he was young. I don't see how it couldn't be. 6 inches at age 14 hardly seems out of the question to me. I can recall seeing kids who looked over 6 inches soft back when I was in junior high school. What kind of wacked out textbooks and encyclopedias are you reading there? That statement is totally wrong. At 15, my penis was just going through its growth spurt, and continued to grow for several years after that. At 15, I just STARTED to get my growth spurt in height, and added several more inches after that over the next 3 years.

There is no 'magic number' when people stop growing and finish puberty, because different people start at different ages, and everyone goes through puberty at a different rate (some fast, some slow). But overall, a safe age range when people stop growing in the penis and height areas is around 18-21. And yes, some people still are growing at age 20.

The MAJORITY, meaning most young boys grow from the ages of 11 to 15 the fasted and they may grow some after that but these are the very few and they will not grow nearly as fast as when they were younger than 15. Man this is a tough spot, guys your age are brutal, especially when it comes to something like this. I'd say that as best you can ignore it and it may go away. Anything you say will only fuel the fire and keep it going. Once people see that you're not being bothered then the "fun" will be removed and hopefully they'll move on to something else! By the way, those sorta questions, curiosities and "events" like that are fairly common among teenage males. Doesn't mean your're gay and its just part of the development process.

I agree with that last post, having a bigger one, especially thicker, is kind of a pain for you and your girl. At first, anyway. It takes a while for a girl to get used to a thick penis if she's never had one before. You have to wait longer to get her ready for it, and it can hurt in some positions.
My point is that there are pros and cons to having a big one as well as an average or small one.

Im 19 and Im about 5.5 in long and I hate it. It totally ruins my confidence. And everyone says size doesnt matter but I have had girls make fun of me and it just makes things worse. Nothing is going to work. Your size is the average size for an adult male so stop worrying. Any girl that would laugh or make fun of your penis doesn't deserve to be pleasured by you and your penis. Let me straighten some of the guys on here about something,(excuse the pun!). Obviously some of the guys talking about penis size are lying and or rounding off, especially in the girth/circumferance area. I don't think alot of guys know how to do it properly.
You would need string or a soft material measuring tape. Mark one end of your erect penis, usually around the middle, start from that point moving the string or tape around back to the same spot and that will give you your girth. The average girth as far as most studies show is 4.85 inches. The average length is 6 inches.
This post seems to attract people who are either worried about their size as being small or need a place to brag because they may be large. It obviously won't reflect the general averages.
As far as women go, I would have to be honest in my experience that women for the most part would be impressed with a large penis, this is only a novelty type thing. It will not keep her more interested sexually or give her more pleasure. A woman may be drawn in to thinking about size because of a constant persistence in talking about it, but will usually be an afterthought or could even be seen as an annoying preoccupation.
All people are impressed with things large like a womans breasts, but if a guy is attracted to a woman and her breasts are an acceptable size is he going to constantly wish for bigger ones? Probably not. It is her that turns him on. It does stem from insecurity.

The average length for an erect ADULT penis is NOT 6". It is - IN FACT - less than that. Some studies [that have ACTUALLY MEASURED GUYS PENISES] suggest that 5.1" is average while other similar studies suggest 5.5" is average. A 6" penis really IS above average. I promise!!

First off, i'd like to say i've been looking over this board, and thank you for those of you who have been honest! It really helps for those of us with questions.

I'm a 15 yr. old guy, sophomore in high school, and my length is on average 6.5 inches, though a couple of times, i've gotten just barely under 7 inches, and i'm about 4.5-5 inches around. I'm not lying, i have no reason to. I just have a question:

At about what age do guys stop growing? If not what age, how many years after the onset of puberty? I probably started puberty in like, 6th grade or so, so i was about 10 or 11.

I've posted here a few times. I'm just about to turn 14 and my size is about 5.5". I'm not lying I started puberty a year ago. I guess from what I've read it seems like everyone that is here is interested in their equipment and wants to either show it off or find out how they stack up. So I would say this isn't the average sizes. As to RMV's question, everything I've heard says that every person is different. Depends on the person. I'm not positive but I've heard its on average age 16, give or take a few years.

RMV, Pimpsta pu it well. There's a lot of variation in when growth stops, but around 16 is typical. It's not even a definite number of years after puberty, though if you had an early puberty it's more likely to stop sooner; if you had a late puberty it's more likely to stop later. Yours seems slightly earlier than average, so it's quite possible you've finished growing. The only way to really know, though, is to wait and se. But you certainly have done well enough already!

wishiwasagirl, you are right, of course. There are no passes or fails. To be below average doesn't mean you can't have a great sex life and be a great lover. Far from it. But there seems to be a built-in thing about penis size, especially in us males. It's something many of us can't help worrying about, which impacts on our self-image. Hence, as Pimpsta says, people come here, worried, to compare with others (or to show it off). It just seems to be part of being human.

Deveopment happens differently for each of us. It is not uncommon for some of us to continue developing into our upper teens like 18 or 19. However, most growth in the penis department is said to have occured by 16/17 years of age.

Very Unhappy, you still have the big puberty growth spurt to come. Your penis will change a LOT - in length, thickness and shape. Even if you are small now, after the growth spurt things may be quite different. You can be quite confident you'll be a lot bigger than 2". So don't label yourself as "small".

I think it's too soon to label yourself as "gay", too. Probably everyone is really bisexual, able to be attracted to both sexes, and around puberty the relative amounts of attraction often take some time to sort themselves out and settle down. Most straight men have had some gay attractions or experiences around puberty, I think (and often later). So just see what happens without labelling yourself.
