It seems my anus does not close as tightly as it did. Muscles seem to have relaxed. After a bm, no matter how clean I get myself, I can get a streak on my underware. I just turned 50. Is this age related, or what is going on?

My guess is that it is age related. I'm in my 50s and I've noticed a few changes. One of them is that when I have to hold an urgent BM for a while I often have skid marks in my underwear. This didn't used to happen very often when I was younger, though it did happen occasionally when I had to hold back a REALLY urgent one.IP: Logged |

I too seem to have a problem with keeping underwear clean. I am 43yrs. and can't understand why other than what you said, it must be an age thing. I need to ask my doctor about this but have been very reluctant to do so because of such an embarrassing problem. If you find out something that will help or if this might be something other than age please write it here! I know and really feel for anyone who has this problem.IP: Logged |

I do use baby wipes. I clean myself thoroughly with them even go as far as using the baby wipes with my finger to clean in my rectum but the feces still come out later. I never had this problem when I younger. I "DO NOT" have anal sex to have stretched out the anus either. I know all of this sounds gross but for people who suffer from this problem it is very embarrassing and uncomfortable. People think if you just use a baby wipe , problem solved, "NOT"IP: Logged |

talk to your doctor you probably just have too much gas... wet feces can be seriousI bet it's diet related or you can eat something to bond the feces together better IP: Logged |

Good job Lamian. I to used Baby wipes and it helps. The key is don't scratch your ass so hard or deeply even if you have the (itchy ass) syndrome. However, I'm just 36 and haven't experienced the ass wideing that occurs at 50. IP: Logged |

I agree...a butt plug will help. Just get one that's not too big to be uncomfortable.IP: Logged |

I can empathize with Tom and Lynn's problem; I have the same problem with marks, or "skids" in my undies, and it doesn't matter how clean I get it...and I'm only 31! If I'm at work, I'll use damn near a half of a roll (to where the last 2 or 3 wipes don't turn up anything), but inevitably will have a hashmark later. I'm tempted to buy stock in whatever company manufactures Stain Stick! I have a decent diet (only eat fast food once or twice a week, and that's usually subway or chik fila), rarely drink, don't do any drugs, and have NEVER engaged in anal sex. What gives??IP: Logged |

I think it is a problem we all face - young or old. One sure way is to buy some dark coloured underwear. The marks may still be there, but are not as noticeable. If you do get skidmarks, be kind to others in your household - fold them up or hide them in the laundry basket. Nothing worse than seeing someone elses skidmarks staring at you on top of the washing, or on the floor. It seems sometimes you get one of those nasty days when no matter how many times you wipe, there is still stuff on the paper. I often wipe 10 + times if I get one of those at work. The baby wipes sound like a good idea. But they are not always handy when you want them. later IP: Logged |

On this topic - how do guys get by who don't wear underpants. Come on, I know you are out there, cause I went to school with a number of guys who did.If you don't wear underpants, how do you get by with the skid mark issue, a wet patch from those last drops of urine that always appears, and how do you cope if you get an erection at a most inopportune time? I know when I was younger and got those uncontrolled erections, it was bad enough trying to hide it with underpants on. later IP: Logged |

Sorry, I don't mean to keep on a topic, but some of this stuff intrigues me, and this is the perfect forum to find out the answers. For guys who wear boxers, do you ever suffer from skid marks? IP: Logged |

I wear boxers and never get skid-marks. I also use baby wipes - and despite what you might think they really are worth it. To put it crudely, when the toilet paper comes off clean, the wipes won't. You'll notice a big difference.IP: Logged |
