Why most men worry about their size?

Most conversations don’t involve talking about penis sizes unless you’re on Afraidtoask.com. However, I always find an awkward aura emitting from everyone around me when the topic of penis size does come up.

Feeling insecure about penis size is more prevalent than I had imagined. Only 55% of men are satisfied with their size.

We should be proud as species though. According to Wikipedia, a human penis is both longer and thicker than that of any other primate relative to body size.
Unfortunately, this fact is useless to most of us because we do not encourage mating with non-humans. In fact, we strongly discourage it for medical reasons (amongst other reasons).

The real issue here is not with the actual penis size, but the perception of penis size as indication of self worth. The truth is, most guys who are insecure about their size are average in comparison.

So here’s the question: “What does porn and male locker rooms have in common?”

Many young males compare their penis size to their peers through either exposure in the locker room or pornography. Often times, males with larger penis are more likely to expose themselves. Also, males in porn tend to have above average penis sizes (there’s no official study to prove this, just anecdotal evidence).

This leads to a bias because the penises that most males are exposed to have a tendency to be above average. Therefore it’s easy to think that one doesn’t “size up.”

A similar comparison can be made about wealth. The average income in the U.S. is about $50k. If you make $50k but live in a neighborhood where everyone makes $100k, you’re not going to feel that you’re financially average.

I guess you can say that awareness is the first step to realizing that most of us are average.
